Maybelline | Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Washable Mascara in Very Black (Review)

Image
Product Summary: The exclusive great little grabber gets to each and every lash with precision for lots of volume from corner to corner. Volume builds with each coat, no clumps and no mess. It is also contact lens safe. Costs around 6.99$. From the very first application on my lashes, they clumped together! I don't know where the no clump claim came from but here I am trying to make my lashes look fuller and longer, instead I get a clumpy mess. One application and it is a mess, if I try for a second application it's a hot mess and I get spider lashes. Definitely, not a cute look. It's so frustrating and I have to brush my lashes apart with a spoolie but then I get a lot of fall out on my upper cheeks. This product is a mess to use from start to finish. It does make my lashes look fuller but the process and hard work to get there is simply not worth it. *** Not Cruelty Free 👎👎*** Mascara should be the easiest part about a makeup application so when a product like...

Divine Beginnings (Partholon #0.5) By: P.C Cast (Book Review)

Image
((( This review will contain spoilers))) Summary: Go back in time, fifty years before the events of New York Times bestselling author P.C. Cast's Partholon books... Something isn't right at Guardian Castle, and Aine can't figure out what. As Healer, she's supposed to be making things better, but there's a darkness that can't be brightened. And then Aine finds an injured Fomorian--winged, dark, blood-thirsty and inherently evil. Or is he? Because there's something about Tegan that Aine can't resist...and once they've shared blood, Aine realizes that everything she's always believed is going to be cast aside....  As far as short stories go I really enjoyed this one. I read the first three books in this series almost ten years ago and I absolutely loved them. I don't remember much of the plot other than there was a bunch of centaurs and goddesses. So, this prequel is a nice introduction into the world of Partholon.  We are ...

True Blood | Season 2 Episode 2: Keep This Party Going (Review)

Image
(((This review will contain spoilers))) This episode contains a lot of scenes that are very much night and day to each other. We've got Jason at the Light of Day conference already making an enemy/friend with Luke who envy's Jason's charismatic personality and his closeness with the Newlin's. We also have Sam at Merlotte's dealing with the new crappy waitress Daphne, running his business and Maryann always showing up everywhere he is. On the flip side, we have poor Lafayette fighting to stay alive while trying to escape this terrible nightmare. I do have to applaud the phenomenal work of the leg prop! It looked gory and very realistic as well.  Unfortunately, it does get worse for Lafayette. He successfully frees himself from the torture contraption but he ends up getting shot by none other than Ginger. To top it all off, Pam, Eric and, Chow feed from Lafayette and we are left wondering if we will ever see him again. By the way, Eric's new hairstyle ...

Image
(((There will be spoilers))) Summary: I am Meredith Gentry, princess and heir apparent to the throne of faerie. To be crowned queen, I must become pregnant and continue the royal bloodline. If I fail, my aunt, Queen Andais, will be free to do what she most desires: install her twisted son, Cel as monarch...and kill me. My royal guards  surround me, and my best loved- my Darkness and my Killing Frost are always beside me, sworn to make love to me and protect me. Even now, we are forced into exile in the mortal world, hoping to outrun the gathering shadows of court intrigue. But King Taranis, powerful and dangerous ruler of faerie's Seelie Court, has leveled accusations against my noble guards of a heinous crime. I know that Taranis's true target is me. He tried to kill me when I was a child, and now I fear his intentions are far more terrifying.  Despite, a good 50 percent of the book being mirror calls from one monarch to another, there was a whole lot of story ...

Her obsession has turned unwaveringly to her niece, hiding among humans in Los Angeles. The queen's mission to get Meredith pregnant and beat her cousin Cel to the crown is taking longer than expected. Even though Meredith spends each night with the queen's immortal guards, no child has come of their decadent pleasures. But something else is happening. Enemies are growing in number every day. Meredith's magic surges through her like never before, transforming her in wild and unpredictable ways. And Meredith is just beginning to learn what incredible power she possesses.... True Blood Season 2 | Episode 1: Nothing But The Blood (Review)

Image
(((There will be spoilers included in this review))) Starting season 2 with a grotesque murder, welcome back to Bon Temps! Luckily, the person that was murdered with their heart ripped out stuffed in Andy's car is none other than Miss Jeanette. The woman who gave Tara and her mother exorcisms. But Miss Jeanette ended up being a fake and was faking the exorcisms to scam Tara and her mother out of money. But that leaves a mystery as to where Lafayette is. Which we quickly discover is chained with several other people to a contraption that is straight out from the movie Saw.  I will admit despite Maryann's sick fascination with people who need help, she did end up saying exactly what we all were thinking and wanted to say to Tara's mother. Tara's mother was and still is a terrible person. She only needed Tara when she was an alcoholic but now that she is all better? Passes judgment and turns her back on her own daughter. Extremely disgraceful! It also seemed Mary...

Physicians Formula: Concealer Twins in Yellow Light (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This 2-in-1 concealer conveniently joins together a colour corrective and a light flesh tone cream concealer to help you achieve flawless looking skin. Yellow hides dark under-eye circles and other bluish skin discolorations while light covers yellow and any minor skin imperfections. It is a gentle creamy formula, transfer-resistant, water-resistant and glides on smoothly to a velvety finish. It is also hypoallergenic, fragrance free, dermatologist approved and non-comedogenic  which means this product won't cause blocked pores that lead to black heads and pimples developing. This product is priced at around 10$. ***Cruelty Free 👍💖*** The one thing I truly love about this product is that it is long-lasting. I can have a 10 hour work shift and I can feel safe knowing that it doesn't wear off. I end the day looking as good as I started it. Of course, it does crease but not as bad as other concealer's I've used before. For me it...

The Organic Pharmacy: Lip & Eye Cream (Review)

Image
Product summary: A superb, nourishing, dual action cream for both lips and eyes. It reduces the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. While also reducing the appearance of fine lines. Plus it hydrates dry lips. The cream is infused with shea butter, bilberry, evening primrose, rosehip and frankincense to keep the eye and lip area plump and moist. This small item with 10 ml of product is priced at $48.  ***Did not find anything on their website about it being cruelty free and there was no symbol on the package that it was cruelty free. I'm counting this as not cruelty free 👎*** I used this cream for a couple of months to see if there would be a noticeable difference and if the effects are long lasting. As seen in the photos, there was an improvement regarding my dark circles but nothing extreme. The most noticeable difference was that my fine lines were less harsh. They did seem softer and at least those were reduced because there ain't no bigger pain in applying...

The Announcement By: Michael J. Gajda (Book Review)

Image
(((I received this book to review but it will in no way influence my review and rating))) Summary: You drive down a road for the hundredth time and notice a house you've never noticed before. You look at a picture and never saw that green spot before. You pick veggies or fruit and think you've cleared the area, then go back and see all the ones you missed. It's all in your point of view. There's a new perspective, a different angle - and you see things differently. And that's where The Announcement comes in. It provides that different point of view, that new perspective, that different angle, and does so with a purpose, It's for anyone who would like to see the world be a better place, but will challenge your ideas of what ""better"" is. And when you're done, and have had a chance to absorb The Announcement, think of others who would hate this book. Then give it to them and cajole, bribe, beg or whatever you have to do to get the...

Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Formulated with Kaolin clay and infused with the essence of honey suckle and white tea; this cleanser removes 2x more dirt, oil and makeup compared to basic cleansers. And it reduces shine! The Koalin clay lifts away oil and impurities to help minimize shine and this cleanser is oil-free. It's also dermatologist-tested and won't clog pores. This item is priced between 20-25$. ***Cruelty-free 👍*** As the seasons change, so does my skincare needs. The warmer the weather gets the more oil I tend to produce and have on my face. Winter is when I dearly need moisturizer for my face because I dry out like crazy! So when summer decides to say hello I need to get rid of the excess oil. I tend to get oil in my t-zone (middle of forehead, nose area and the surrounding cheek area close to the nose) and around my hairline.  What I like about this product is that it removes any oil you have without completely stripping your face of moisture. A lot of cleans...

To my Disappointing Father

Dear Sperm Donor, I am writing this because I have to finally let go of all this pain and animosity. I figure one day this might find you and you will finally realize how much of a failure you were as a father to me. I don't think I have ever had someone systematically destroy me mentally and emotionally like you do. I've come across a lot of horrid people in my short life on this Earth but you really take the cake on this. Every time I think of you, all that comes to mind is anger, pain, disappointment and huge array of tragic memories that will haunt me for the rest of my life. You were never there for me. You never gave me your support or a shoulder to lean on. Yes, there might have been a point where you gave me a place to stay for 2 weeks but aside from that you've been nothing but a disappointing. Whether it is during my childhood or my adult years, you have a way of fucking shit up beyond repair. Congratulations dad, you fucked me up so good that I can't e...

True Blood |Season 1 Episode 9: Plaisir D'amour (Review)

Image
((((((Please be warned there will be spoilers)))))))) The opening scene is quite something. We have Sookie looking like Carrie from the prom, Ginger is vomiting and screaming non-stop, and Bill killed Longshadow because he was going after Sookie. I'm pretty sure he wasn't supposed to do that. It's quite disgusting how a vampire dies. Quite a huge mess that is left behind. All that was left was a huge puddle of blood, guts and clothes. As if Sookie's night could not get any worse as soon as she gets home her cat is hanging from her ceiling fan, swinging blood all over the place. It's like one bad Halloween trip after another.  After the non-stop hell that Sookie has endured it's about damn time that Bill took responsibility and admitted it's his fault that everyone around Sookie has been dying. I just don't understand why Sookie would persist on staying with someone who has been the cause of such traumatic experiences.  What has been super s...

True Blood | Season 1 Episode 8: The Fourth Man in the Fire (Review)

Image
((((There will be spoilers in this episode review...you have been forewarned)))) I will admit I have not been a big fan of Sookie's attitude, especially, regarding Bill. But the fact that he might actually be dead makes her act as if she has lost another family member just baffles me. It's just Bill! Is this what love sick teenagers having sex for the first time looks like? Obsessed and down right ridiculous? Sookie's demeanor is beyond ridiculous. What type of person would think to call a vampire during the day and expect them to answer? I'm really happy that Tara is finally experiencing how a sober mother is because from what we have been shown about her Tara has had a tough upbringing. I just find it funny that it took a possum dying in the middle of a forest for Tara's mom to finally be sober. But what I hate seeing is Bill coming between Tara and Sookie. I hate that Sookie is allowing Bill to alienate her from everyone she knows. But on a different no...
