Tarte Cosmetics | Big Ego Mascara (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Ultra-black mascara clinically proven to lengthen, volumize and curl. Delivers fully-loaded, flake-free flutter for 16 hours. Lash lovin' formula nourishes and conditions lash hair. Cost: $40.  I'm always on the market for a good mascara since I don't wear false lashes. And for the most part, I've had good experiences with Tarte products.  I was absolutely in love with how my lashes looked once I applied the big ego mascara but that love quickly turned into annoyance because by the end of my day my mascara flaked off and I was sporting raccoon eyes. Now I will admit, the flaking under the eyes depends on how many coats of mascara I applied.  If I applied one coat? We can manage and my under eyes look semi decent. But anything more than 1 coat? Oh boy, let's just say I wouldn't dare leave the house. I've already gotten into the habit of using another mascara when I know I'll be leaving the house or if I'm going out with friends.  Rat...

Drama Queen's Last Dance (The Morganville Vampires #9.5) By: Rachel Caine (Book Review)

Another short story from Eve's point of view but this time we see more of Eve's character and inner monologue. In previous books, Eve's unfavourable characteristics started rearing their ugly head. Her flippant behaviour turned up a notch. And normally, I wouldn't care so much but the fact that she would be so brazen and not think things through before acting out in front of strangers which basically could have put her friends lives in danger just made me realize that this wouldn't be the type of person I would want to be friends with or at least close friends.  I can't believe it took this many books into the series to finally see that Eve is a very insecure girl. And she uses her goth outfits to garner attention. It was weird for me to read how in the presence of a new and beautiful girl, Eve sized her up and compared each other. To me that just seemed so weird because you would think growing up around Vampires that she would be used to being around attractive...

The Suicide Squad (Movie Review)

Image
Summary: The Suicide Squad follows a motley crew of imprisoned supervillains sent by a secret government agency to a hostile island to destroy a mysterious experiment.  Now this is an awesome superhero movie...but replace the heroes with villains, profanity and vulgarity and you've got yourself a 5 star rated movie. We've got some familiar faces, some new characters and an actual enjoyable movie. Lately, I've been keeping track on whether a movie captures my attention long enough that I get lost in the story and if not my phone seems to be the natural go to when surviving a shitty movie. I'm happy to report that this movie succeeded in both capturing my attention and making the time fly because before I knew it a two hour plus movie flew by.  I'm disappointed but not entirely surprised that Will Smith didn't return as Deadshot. All of that hype in the first movie just to be then replaced with another black actor who's character similarly has the same exact ...
