Veriphy Skincare | 20/20 Eye Cream (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Powers your skin to naturally produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Deeply nourishing and hydrating for a visible lift on the eye area. Ideal to combat the look of wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation and puffiness around the eyes. Cost: $98 for 15 ml/0.5 Oz.  I first received this product in a Ipsy bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 30$ Canadian.  ***Cruelty free** I am beyond shocked just how much this eye cream costs. Especially, since it didn't improve my skin all that much. I will say it was extremely hydrating but for the same exact results you can save yourself the money and buy a ton of cheaper alternatives.  The older I am getting the more I make a habit to prioritize skincare, especially, around the eyes. The skin around the eye area overtime tend to thin and of course that is typically where wrinkles start forming. One thing I love about subscription ...

Smashbox | Studio Skin Full Coverage 24 Hour Hydrating Foundation (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A high performing liquid foundation that helps you face anything. Studio skin evens skin tone and never settles into pores and lines. It won't cause breakouts while controlling oil and shine. It's also transfer-resistant, sweat and humidity resistant. I have the shade: 0.3. Cost: $43 I first received this product in a Ipsy bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 30$ Canadian.  *Cruelty free* I typically don't wear foundation and I still don't wear full coverage base makeup. I tend to spot conceal when I have redness and cover my under eyes. I do want to emphasize when it comes to wearing base makeup and applying many layers that having a good skincare routine is key and never forget moisturizer! I have made that mistake many times so please don't make the same me. Without a healthy base then the foundation and any additional layers won't appear and blend well into the skin.  T...

Shopping My Stash | Nail Polish Edition Part. 2

Image
I have received quite a few nail polishes in my Ipsy glam bag (subscription service) over the years and many of them are just sitting, not being used. To be fair, I haven't bought nail polishes other than top coats in yearsssss but I have bought press-on's and nail dip powders in between my nail polish purchases to see if I would have a easier time maintaining my nails and manicures.  Clearly, I'm taking a break from those and am trying to use what I have, especially, what is old and unfortunately, most of my nail polishes are old. The month of August has been a crazy and eventful one for me. I've had to attend a few weddings and important dinners so my priority was a nail polish that would look sleek and presentable while also complimenting my outfits.  The nail polish I used for this month was House of Makeup nail polish in flat white-20 which I did receive in a Ipsy bag. I looked up House of Makeup  and I wasn't able to find any nail polishes on their website. Lo...

Image
Product Summary: Glow forever in these highlighters created with powerful pearl pigments that are pressed from liquid to baked. The luminosity from the pearls in the formula provide an unparalleled shine and pigment payoff that melts into the skin without looking cakey or powdery. Cost: $35 per highlighter. I have Star Island (a warm ivory), Covent Garden in collab with Talia Mar (a champagne rose), and Moondance in collab with Madison Miller (a pearl highlight with champagne undertones) I first received this product in a Ipsy bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 30$ Canadian.  Click here to check them out.  ***Cruelty free*** I don't have many items from Ofra but their highlighters have been something that I was very much excited to try, especially, since their highlighters are always highly rated in the beauty community and after trying these ones I can see why. I definitely have a huge love for hi...

No Buy Makeup Challenge...Kinda Failed??

Image
Back at the beginning of February I posted about actively and consciously taking the no buy makeup challenge very seriously. Here we are at the end of June and I kinda, sorta failed the challenge? As it is no surprise to everyone I have an Ipsy glam bag subscription and have had it for many years but for the past year or so I have been putting it on pause because I just have too many products. Too much makeup, too much skincare and too much haircare so I figured pausing it would be better than canceling it.  A couple months ago I got an email stating that they attempted to process a payment (I clearly forgot to pause a month), however, the payment they had on file was old and needed to be updated. Not sure how but they eventually were able to process a payment without me updating the card on file. Now we have Ipsy June glam bag! I'm happy at least that most of these products are skincare based which is a preference for me. The older I get the less I care for makeup and have focused...

Click here to check them out.  The weather is getting colder and harsher which I thought would be the perfect time to review this product. I haven't been using it for very long but it seems that the product might turn quickly if it's exposed to air/ bacteria? I'm not quite sure what happened but I used it one day and left it alone for a  few days. When I went back to use it the inside of the cap was fil...

Click  here to check them out.   I am a overtime queen and am constantly working. Unfortunately, that can lead to me being tired and having some unattractive under eyes. I was using this eye cream for a few months and it surprisingly worked really well. I'm still shocked that I can see such a noticeable difference to my under eyes.  I've noticed that the under eye area is not as sunken in, it makes me look refreshed and awake. I ha...

VENeffect | Micro-Exfoliant (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This ultra fine exfoliant with grape seed, soy, pomegranate and willow bark. It gently removes dead skin cells, helps keep skin clear and radiant. Plus it hydrates and improves skin tone. Cost: $60 ***Cruelty Free*** I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   I love using s scrub, especially, during the summer months where my skin tends to get quite oily and sweat more than normal. I don't tend to spend many hours outside during the summer but when I do I need a good scrub to help me rid of the accumulation of sweat and grim on my face. Seems simple enough? Apparently, not. And don't let the price tag fool you, expensive does not mean better quality.  I am beyond disappointed in this product! It does nothing for my skin. It's so 'gentle' that it doesn't exfoliate anything off my face. And...

I've reviewed first aid beauty in the past and it has done well on my skin. This product was no exception. I thoroughly believe in keeping my face and neck as moisturized as possible to reduce age + wear and tear. I don't tend to wear face makeup so a good moisturizer is my pick me up for good skin.  This has been one of the best moisturizers that I have tried in a long while. ...

Click here to check them out. ***Cruelty free ❤*** As I'm sure you guys have noticed, I'm a very pale girl and without the help of blush and bronzer I would look like a ghost. That's how pale I am. I look like a sick person if I don't add any colour to my face. While it does say it's a duo blush but for me and my complexion it ends up working out as a bronzer and blush duo. I use beaming as a bronzer to warm up my face. I use it along my cheekbones and temple area. I then...

Covering my under eyes has been a constant battle over the past several years. I tried several different ways of applying the concealer; with my fingers, concealer brush and a beauty sponge. With a concealer brush and fingers a little goes a long way. Especially, with how thick it is, you can g...

I wouldn't call this a primer but more of a CC cream. For a "primer", it is super pigmented just like a BB/CC cream. It blends into the skin really well leaving a nice glowy complexion as seen from the pict...

The Organic Pharmacy: Lip & Eye Cream (Review)

Image
Product summary: A superb, nourishing, dual action cream for both lips and eyes. It reduces the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. While also reducing the appearance of fine lines. Plus it hydrates dry lips. The cream is infused with shea butter, bilberry, evening primrose, rosehip and frankincense to keep the eye and lip area plump and moist. This small item with 10 ml of product is priced at $48.  ***Did not find anything on their website about it being cruelty free and there was no symbol on the package that it was cruelty free. I'm counting this as not cruelty free 👎*** I used this cream for a couple of months to see if there would be a noticeable difference and if the effects are long lasting. As seen in the photos, there was an improvement regarding my dark circles but nothing extreme. The most noticeable difference was that my fine lines were less harsh. They did seem softer and at least those were reduced because there ain't no bigger pain in applying...
