Urban Decay | Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Naked Heats up. Get lit with 12 can't live without, amber-hued naturals including warm browns, burnt oranges and rich siennas. From a super smooth red-brown matter and a glimmering copper to a deep, shift bronze, this palette has everything you need to create sultry daytime looks, intensely smoky nighttime looks and everything in between. Cost: Full price is $70 but I bought it on sale from Sephora for $38.50   ***Cruelty Free*** This palette is right up my alley! I love this kind of color story with browns and reds. It's absolutely perfect for the summer months while being dark enough for the autumn time when the weather gets colder.  I've been learning new ways to do my makeup instead of doing the same eye look; having a shimmer shade on my lids and matte colors on my crease. Prior to learning new ways to do my makeup I would have found this palette too dark, especially, for everyday wear. I would have thought a single light shimmery shade wouldn't be...

Doucce | Maxlash Volumizer Mascara (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Intensify your lashes with outrageous length and volume. The extra large brush fiber bristles are cut long on one side to lengthen lashes and short on the other to coat lashes for ultimate volume. The velvet carbon black formula enhances the lashes adding depth and dimension that creates visually fuller and larger lashes. This creamy and buildable formula is flake-proof, resistant to sweat and humidity, and will not clump. Cost: $24  I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian.  Click here to check them out.  ***Cruelty Free*** This mascara definitely has a unique brush that I have yet to find thus far. I don't wear false lashes so the most my lashes will ever see is multiple coats of mascara. Otherwise, they are practically nonexistent.  In terms of length and volume, it didn't do anything more than what every other masca...

Too Faced | Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Eye Shadow Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This sexy, sparkling, Pumpkin pie-scented eye shadow palette features 18 warm and spicy shades in a  variety of finishes that will make transitioning form your morning PSL's to your favourite fall late night snack as easy as pie! Cost: Around $60 but I bought it on sale from Sephora for $34.  ***Cruelty Free*** Here is another eye shadow palette review for a Too Faced palette. I've reviewed a few of their palettes so far and I'm happy to write that I am beyond happy with the Pumpkin Spice Second Slice palette. As we have all seen if you have been following my blog and reviews that I am a sucker for natural/ warm eyeshadows. So naturally, this palette became a favourite of mine quite quickly.  As per usual, another fantastic palette from Too Faced that hits it out of the park for me. It has amazing pigmentation, long-lasting staying power and again their formula is so easy to use and takes very little effort to put together an amazing eye look. ...

Too Faced | Born This Way Sunset Stripped Eyeshadow Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Inspired by the warm, sultry, sexy sun-kissed skin of beach babes frolicking in the surf and sound of Malibu, these 16 rich, creamy, highly-pigmented modern nudes range from flattering to sultry matte, metallic, shimmer, and sparkle shades for looks so naturally alluring, they'll think you were born in L.A.! Cost: Full price $70 however, I bought it on sale from Sephora for $33.  ***Cruelty free*** Despite Too Faced having a sub-par reputation and a history of being problematic I have always loved their palettes and have taken advantage in buying their products on sale. This is another palette of theirs that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I am never a fan of the full price tag, hence, why I only buy them on sale because dishing out $33 is a hell of a lot more manageable than $70.  As per usual, I am a fan of the natural/nude eyeshadows. I love the pigmentation and love the colour pay off. They are easy to work with and they blend extremely well. Starting fro...

Bare Minerals | Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Vibrant color loaded into a refreshing formula that slips on satiny-smooth for sheer to medium coverage with non stop glistening shine. Lips look fuller and more voluptuous. Vitamin A,C, and E complex helps to deliver antioxidant defence. Cost: $18 color in Hot Shot  ***Cruelty free*** This has got to be one of the worst lip glosses I have ever tried. It looks cute for about five minutes then as soon as I drink anything it clumps together. And forget about reapplying over it because if you do then it clumps together even worse.   I like the pink color and it does make my lips look full. However, it does not feel comfortable at all. And this thing cost $18 to make matters worse. It doesn’t matter how cute something looks I value my comfort over anything else.  Rating: 0 stars on 5! Absolutely, was a waste of money and I do regret buying it. Live and learn lol.

Maybelline | Face Studio Master Hi-Light Bronzer (Review)

Image
Product Summary:  The multi-tonal bronzer palette highlights skin and softly contours cheeks for an instantly defined glow. I have the shade light bronze. Original price is $16.99 but got it on sale for $4.  ***not cruelty free*** I have been trying to venture into the world of bronzers and with how cheap this one is. I figured I might as well try it. This bronzer was not what I was expecting at all. I thought it would be too dark or difficult to work with but this has been one of the easiest products ever! All you need to do is swirl your brush and apply it on the cheekbones. It’s that simple!  It makes my cheeks so beautiful and glowy. On my skin ton it appears like a nude blush with a highlighter top. And what’s great about it is that I can use it during the winter or summer season.  Rating: 5 stars on 5!  This shall be a short review. I have absolutely no complaints other than I wish it was cruelty free. But otherwise it was a great product, easy to us...

Sugar Rush | Lash Smoothie Mascara (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This 2-in-1 formula (it’s part mascara, part lash treatment) gives your lashes instant volume and length and helps deep condition with a blend of avocado, baobab, and plant oils. The want has short bristles to separate and define lashes, and long bristles to boost volume and curl. It’s everything you need in a mascara. Cost: $25 Sugar Rush was created by Tarte cosmetics. The packaging is deceiving but essentially it’s a makeup line curated for teens and young adults and is meant to be affordable. In my opinion   I don’t know where they thought a $25 mascara is affordable? Drugstore is $10 or less… I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   ***Cruelty free*** I have never had a mascara quite like this before. The bristles are extremely rigid in comparison to regular mascara bristles. If this is...

Image
Product Summary: Experience your most skin-loving air brushed look with bye bye pores pressed powder. I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   ***Cruelty free*** I’ve never really used a finishing powder like this. I tend to use presse foundation powders for all over the face, especially, since I d...

Violet Voss | I Rust U Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A blazing-hot collection of 20 trending warm rust hues in Violet Voss's top-rated professional formulas and superb finishes. This palette was created with universally flattering warm rust neutrals and coordinating hues that compliment each other flawlessly. Cost: Full price $60 but I bought it on sale for $30.  ***Cruelty free*** This has easily become one of my favourite palettes! While we quickly head into the fall season, this warm rust/neutral palette is the perfect add on to any makeup routine. It has become evident by the last couple of palette review I've done that I am definitely a neutrals girl. I love the red and orange colours!  I have no complaints with this palette. It's easy to blend, the colours last all day and I have no fallout during the application process. To any of my girlies out there that want a new palette just in time for the fall I 100% recommend this one! You wont be disappointed.  Rating: I think it's obvious this is gett...

KVD Beauty | Tattoo Liner (Review)

Image
Product Summary: An award winning waterproof liquid eyeliner with tattoo-bold pigment and an ultra-precise brush tip that makes it easy to get sharp lines every time. Shade in trooper black. Cost: $32.50 ***Cruelty free***  My pursuit for an amazing eyeliner to change my life is still an ongoing mission. Even after using the KVD tattoo eyeliner. It's really good but it's not the best. I'm honestly 50/50 on this. Some days it's absolutely amazing. And then other days it basically disappears or gets smeared. The second I realized that I rather avoid wearing eyeliner than deal with it altogether demonstrated to me that there was room for improvement.  I'm not sure when the award winning waterproof part was supposed to kick in but anytime it was hot or I was running around doing errands it would run or completely disappear if my eyelids were oily. Summer is one of those times where everything is hot and disgusting but you don't want to look like a hot mess.  Rating:...

NYC | Kohl Brow/Eyeliner Pencil (Review)

Image
Product Summary: The NYC brow and liner pencil make lining and defining brows and eyes quick and easy. Special formula is soft enough to easily fill in brows yet firm enough to prevent smudging, and running. Cost around $10. Colour in 921 Jet Black.  ***Not cruelty free*** I can understand and appreciate dual use items but, unfortunately, Jet black is just too dark for my brows. For the purpose of this review, I will be reviewing this strictly for eyeliner use. I love using eyeliner to define my eyes and make them pop but if I can't easily apply eyeliner it'll become the bane of my existence.  The application process could use improvements to say the least. It doesn't apply on smoothly and tugs on the skin which skin around the eyes should be well taken care of since it's so thin and sensitive. Eyeliner tugging on the skin is not a good thing.  I love doing winged eyeliner looks and it's nearly impossible to do with this liner pencil since it's not creamy enoug...

Bellápierre | Mineral And Matte Lipsticks (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Bellápierre's lipsticks are formulated with natural waxes, mineral pigments, iron oxides and nourishing antioxidants, such as vitamin C and vitamin E for luscious, flawless lips. The lipsticks are 100% natural and provide long lasting color. The mineral pigments provide natural protection from the sun. Shades in matte: Incognito. Mineral lipsticks: P.I.N.K and Ruby.  Cost: $15 each.  I ended up receiving these lipsticks in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.     ***Cruelty free*** These lipsticks are extremely easy to use and are very pigmented. They apply easily, are extremely moisturizing to the lips and it sits comfortably on the lips as well. The only downside to them is they aren't long lasting. The lipstick breaks down very quickly whether I'm eating or drinking it doesn't last.  One great thing about...

Huda Beauty | The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: 18 gorgeous shades ranging from cool to warm tones, including 10 buttery mattes that blend seamlessly with your skin, 4 multi-reflective shadows with a versatile pearly to iridescent finish, 2 pressed glitters for an opulent touch, 1 pressed pearl for a velvety shine, 1 concealer base to make your shadows pop. From a minimalist, I-woke-up-like-this look to a show stopping iridescent lid, this eyeshadow palette is your new must have to enhance your beauty on any occasion.  Cost: Full price $86 but I bought it on sale at sephora for $43.  ***Cruelty free*** This is my first Huda Beauty product and I'm disappointed. I expected better, especially, when their palettes almost cost $90. One of my biggest issues is the fallout. Whether I'm picking up product with my brush or the wear throughout the day it gets everywhere! The glitter and shimmer shades are the worst to deal with. The glitter and shimmer shades end up all around my eyes and don't stay put. And if I ...

Violet Voss | Glamingo Pro Face Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: The glamingo face palette features a blissful selection of colorfully-feminine blushes and bronzers, as well as blindingly-glowing highlighters. Inspired by the beautiful colours of the tropics, this collection of travel must have shades is everything you need for any event. Full price is $60 but I bought it on sale at Sephora for $30.  ***Cruelty free*** This has surprisingly been a fun palette to play with! It's hard to find a palette where I can use all the shades for what they are intended for and I'm happy to say that has changed with this palette.  This palette is best to use during the summer because that's when I can use all the shades. This past winter I've stuck to using the two blushes as well as the highlighter (white sand) they are the more flattering shades to use while I'm at my palest.  I love that this palette is so versatile, you have warm and cool tone shades. They are multifunctional, you can use this palette to do your face mak...

Too Faced | Christmas Coffee Eyeshadow Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Get your colour fix from 8 tasty shadows that arm you up like a hot latte on a cool morning. There's no jitter, only glitter (and creamy perfection) from these gorgeous shades that keep you going long past morning. Bought this palette on sale for $25. ***Cruelty free*** When I first used this palette I was a little bit nervous that the lightest shade Kool Whip would be too light but it works amazingly on the lid. It has a tiny bit of sheen which you wouldn't notice unless you swatch it. I love using Kool Whip to brighten and open my eyes. It just looks so good. All these shades are extremely pigment and blend really well individually and together.  There is some fallout if you pick up too much product so just pick up a little bit of product and if needed you can build the colour up. All these colours work together so well. You can pair up any 2 colours and they will work well together. It's super easy to create a quick eye look and be on the go to start you...

Sephora Collection | Make No Mistake Full Coverage Concealer (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This super concentrated, full coverage formula packs a powerful punch in a single drop that never settles into fine lines or wrinkles. It corrects discoloration, hyperpigmentation and imperfections while providing undetectable coverage. It is lightweight-wearing and feels luxurious without heaviness, dries and imparts a smooth, natural-matte finish. The compact slim tube component dispenses the precise dosage for on the go, no-fuss application. This formula contains turmeric extract, which is known for its soothing properties. Cost: $19 I got the shade in 01 Fleur de sel.  ***Not cruelty free*** This concealer is extremely thick so it's best to start with a little and build up the coverage. It definitely took me a while to figure out how to apply it. I tried with makeup sponges and brushes, and I've found the best way to apply it is with my finger. I put a tiny bit on my finger and apply only on the area I want to conceal. I only spot conceal with this becaus...

Morphe | 35 XO Natural Flirt Artistry Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Show off that flirty side all season long with this playful palette. Shimmering nudes mix and mingle with blushing berries for a glam good-time. Take full advantage of these sultry shades and show everyone that less can truly mean more. Cost: $34 but I bought it on sale from Sephora for $24. ***Cruelty free*** This is my first Morphe product and eyeshadow palette from them. I'm so happy I bought this palette because it's so versatile and easy to use. It has a nice combination of neutral, pink and purple shadows. There's enough diversity that you can make a lot of different eye looks that range from natural, glamorous and evening looks. If you're starting out and want to build a palette collection this is a great one to start with. This is one of the few palettes that I love reaching for and I don't think I'll store away in a drawer like I have with other palettes I've reviewed in the past.  The pigmentation is absolutely amazing, it's l...

Marc Jacobs | Le Marc Lip Crème (Review)

Image
Product summary: A rich, velvety, ultra-hydrating lipstick that delivers a dramatic punch of vivid pigment and endless hours of luxurious wear. Costs: $30. Lipstick I have is in the shade Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 216.  ***Cruelty free*** The colour is gorgeous and totally up my alley. It works well with my complexion, it's very pigmented and it's a nice summer shade. It applies easily and is very creamy but it ends there. Honestly, I had high hopes for this lipstick, especially, since it's described as being ultra-hydrating.  But this dries out my lips like you wouldn't believe. Maybe 10 minutes after application and it dries out my lips. The dried out parts of my lips were crumbling off and peeling off. And it specifically does this whether I exfoliate my lips or not.  It does last a long time on the lips but it's so uncomfortable  and it doesn't sit well that I just want to wipe it off right away. When it comes to eating or even drinking I just have the urge to wi...

Tarte | Tarteist Pro Glow To Go Highlight+Contour Palette (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Portable highlight and contour palette with three natural artistry shades. Rich, cool undertones mimic real shadow and light reflection. Highlighting powders deliver a buildable, micro shimmer strobe. Matte contouring powder adds balanced dimension. Powered by longwearing Amazonian clay for fade-free payoff. Includes: Gleam (pearl highlight), Burst (shimmering sand highlight) and Chisel (matte contour). Cost: $26 but I bought it on sale at Sephora for $19.50 ***Cruelty Free***  One thing that I find beyond annoying when it comes to makeup is advertising a product as a contour shade when it's clearly a bronzer. A lot of people find it difficult to distinguish the two but as a company selling these types of products they should not be falsely advertising bronzer as contour and quite frankly should know the difference as well. Chisel (the contour shade) is extremely warm tone and not cool tone. It's straight up a bronzer shade with how brown it is. Normally for co...

KVD Beauty | Everlasting Longwearing Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II and Outlaw (Review)

Image
Product summary: The liquid lipstick that started a revolution. This creamy formula glides over lips and sets to a true matt finish, plus it's packed with natural moisturizers like vitamin E and sunflower seed wax. These liquid lipsticks are transfer-resistant, long-wearing, highly pigmented and have a comfortable matte finish. Costs: $28. Lolita II: Terracotta nude. Outlaw: Brick Red.  ***Cruelty free*** I am a huge fan of liquid lipsticks and I enjoy trying them out from different companies. KVD beauty is known for their liquid lipsticks so I thought I was in safe hands. But boy I was extremely wrong! Starting off with the application process it's easy to apply and the product is very creamy. My long list of issues start just shortly after that.  First off, these liquid lipsticks are not long-lasting at all. It rubs off while I eat, while I drink water and it even disappears without me doing nothing. It's the strangest thing I've experienced when it comes to makeup. ...
