Marc Anthony | Argan oil Ultra Hydrating Conditioning Treatment (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Give your hair TLC with pure Argan oil, keratin and grapeseed oil. All the goodness your hair needs to correct the look and feel of dry, dull hair while protecting against split ends, breakage and frizz. This mask penetrates with hydration, bringing back the strength and shine you know. Cost: $5-8 ***Cruelty free*** Over the years I've had hit or miss experiences with Marc Anthony products. While I was skeptical, I'm happy to say that it worked quite well! I have a lot of hair that I colour every 4-6 weeks and on top of that I like styling my hair with heat tools so my hir was in need of some much needed TLC. It did require using the conditioning treatment a couple of times to see some results but after the second treatment there was visible improvement. The ends seemed hydrated and had more like to them.  I will mention that after a couple days I did need to use hair oil to keep my ends hydrated with how often I workout and style my hair I did need a boost. Ho...

amika | Flash Instant Shine mask (Review)

Image
Product Summary: All shine, no wait. This flash acting treatment mask instantly seals, softens and hydrates hair.  How to use it: after washing, squeeze water from hair, apply in section from root to tip until fully saturated. Wait at least one minute and rinse. Cost: $32 I first received this product in a Ipsy bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 30$ Canadian.  ***Cruelty free*** This is my first time trying a product from amika and I enjoyed it for the most part. I do have almost 30 inches in length of hair so I used up this product quite quickly. I absolutely loved the smell of the product how long it lasted in my hair.  I dye my hair once a month and work out 5+ times a week so my hair needs as much hydration as it can get, especially, the ends of my hair. While the mask did add some shine to my hair it only lasted a couple days. Even using the product consistently the shine didn't last long...

Down Under Natural’s | Ultimate Hold Styling Mousse (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Venture down under and immerse yourself in the exotic cocktail of Australian fruits; kiwi, peach, avocado and natural botanicals. Alcohol-free and non sticky, providing long lasting and styling control without drying or buildup. Added UV protection against environmental polluants and discolouration. Cost: $6-8  ***Cruelty free ❤️*** I didn’t end up using this product in the way it was intended but either way it doesn’t matter because it worked amazingly with my hair! After my hair wash day I typically straighten it and then throughout the following days I’ll either keep it straight or use my curling wand. 9 out of 10 times I curl it.  I’m not a big fan my natural hair texture just because it can get big and frizzy. Straightening it helps me keep it under control. I did try using this product while my hair was damp but I couldn’t get it to work well for me. Instead I use it on my already straightened hair when I want to curl it and it surprisingly worked ...

Image

Helps protect the cuticle while styling. Keep strands looking sleek and polished with long lasting smoothness without damage caused by silicone build-up. Cost: Around $10.  ***Cruelty free*** I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   While my hair may seem ‘thin’ when straightened, it’s quite thick and can get frizzy. I’ve tried Marc Anthony products in the past and have had nothing but a good experience. Unfortunately, this time around it’s not the same experience with the bye bye frizz protecting conditioner.  I know I have a hot kitchen but my god with this...

Briogeo | Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A weekly deep conditioning mask that balances protein and moisture to strengthen and repair dry, damaged hair, Cost: $39 for 8 oz. How to use: After shampooing, massage the hair mask into hair from root to tip. Leave in for 10 minutes before rinsing.  ***Cruelty free*** I've used Briogeo products in the past before and had such great results. My hair has seen better days lately and it needs some serious TLC. I knew I was going to be in good hands when it comes to Briogeo products.  Only after 1 use and you can see a noticeable difference. The texture and appearance drastically improved. It brought shine back to the ends of my hair, it improved the texture so now it's extremely soft where as before it was very dry and almost straw like. It definitely was not a cute look to be sporting.  Rating: 5 stars on 5! This is going to be a short review because I have no complaints about the hair mask. It did exactly what it claimed to do. The only downside is ...

DevaCurl | Super Stretch (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This coconut infused cream stretches any style, it elongates curls without compromising definition, while coconut oil delivers shine and moisture. The soft, velvety texture gives the moisture of a cream with the hold of a gel, without the crunch. Costs: $30.  How to use:  You can either apply into clean wet hair in a downward motion. Don't scrunch! Or apply on wet hair in sections, style and unravel once dry.  *** Cruelty free*** I had high hopes for this product. I have very thick wavy hair that without any products or styling with heat it looks like a huge frizzy mess. I have used hair mousse in the past and had great success with them so I figured I'd get the same results. The first time I tried this product out my hair was a hot mess. I put too much product and my hair had this crunchy/wet texture that I couldn't stand. I normally wash my hair once a week but using this product I had to wash my hair within two days, it was that awful.  Even...

L'Oréal Paris | Ultra-Concentrated Urgent Repair Care (Review)

Image
Product Summary: L'Oréal's ultra concentrated urgent repair care is enriched with LAK1000 containing reconstructing gel that deeply penetrates the hair fiber. Directions: After using shampoo and conditioner, apply on wet hair concentrating on mid-length and ends. Use once a week. Costs around $5.   ***Not cruelty free*** For some reason I am unable to find what LAK1000 means on their website or anywhere else. And I can't seem to find much information on this product either. Maybe this product never flew off the shelves but it would explain why I was able to snag a few of these for just a dollar.   It comes to no surprise that I constantly colour and curl my hair, with that I need to use hair products that can deeply nourish and repair my damaged hair. I have long thick hair so this one tube only lasted after one use. Luckily I was able to snag a few of these to really test them out.  After just a couple of uses I can visibly see a difference in my hair. The ends...

TRESemmé | Perfectly (Un)Done Ultra Brushable Hold Hairspray (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Built to give you great beach waves with all-day hold, the TRESemmé perfectly (Un)Done brushable hold hairspray for woman will leave your hair looking naturally wavy without the fuss. Unlike some professional hair products, this aerosol hairspray leaves your hair easily brushable without the flakiness or stickiness associated with some products while still protecting it from unwanted frizz.                  Cost: Around $5.99 ***Not Cruelty Free. They go out of their way to say they do not test on animals but where it is legally required to test on animals to sell in that country they will do so. From that alone they should stop saying they are cruelty free. That's total bullshit.*** My go to hairstyle to have is curls/waves. I have long hair and doing curls makes it look really nice plus it compliments my face. The downside of loving curls but having long, thick hair means that the curls barely last a few hours be...

Leave in 1-2 minutes. Rinse. No need to use a separate conditioner.  ***Cruelty free 👍*** As many of you know, I love to dye my hair and I switch colors often. Sometimes, I am forced to bleach my hair to get the desired color and vibrancy that I want. Unfortunately, when it comes to bleach it can severely damage your hair. I naturally have thick, healthy hair but sometimes I end up getting split ends and the ends of my hair thins out. So I need something that nourishes, adds shine and helps with my split ends.  Using this con...

I have dry, itchy and a sensitive scalp which at times is hard to maintain because if I touch my scalp...

Gently work through hair, making sure to cover ends. Wait 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.  ***Not cruelty free 👎👎*** As all of you know, I love to dye my hair and to get the brightness I do have to bleach it. So, I need to keep the colour long-lasting and moisturize my hair so it doesn't become weak from the bleach. I have really long, thick hair and I was worried I had to go through this product quickly but it is lasting quite a while.  One thing I highly recommend is if you are thinking you are using too much then you are! I did the mistake of using too much and my roots en...
