Split (Movie Review)

Image
((((((There will be spoilers in my review...you have been warned.)))))) Summary:  3 teenage girls are abducted by a man with a diagnosed 23 personalities. The girls must try and escape before the frightful and dominant 24th personality takes control and wreaks havoc on them all. I'm sorry but these girls survival instincts are total garbage. Are you seriously going to tell me that white suburban girls will freeze and not even try to escape or at least fight when someone kidnaps them? Actually, you know what not very surprising. All I know for sure is that I would be beating the motherfucker down for even attempting to kidnap me. But we can see right away the first personality introduced to the audience is a germaphobe.  Why didn't all the girls storm him? Anyone ever heard of join forces and conquer the enemy? It's quite obvious that when "Barry" met with his psychologist that he was sizing her up. Evidently, a different personality was pretending ...

NYC: Expert Last Lip Color +10 shades (Review)

Image
These expert last lipsticks are moisturizing, comfortable and long wearing to last up to 6 hours. These lipsticks are meant to have a velvety and glamorous finish that doesn't feather or bleed. These lipsticks cost around $2 a piece. I do have 11 shades out of a possible 20 shades from the collection. From the picture on the left it does have a simple plastic packaging. And the picture on the right is a swatch of all 11 lipsticks. From top to bottom there is (402) Red Flame, (415) Brandy Sparkle, (417) Flirty, (418) Sugar Plum, (437) Modern Love, (438) Candy Rush, (439) L❤ve My Latte, (440) Creamy Caramel, (440) Coralista, (446) Smooch and (447) Forever Fuchsia.  I feel like my swatch quality started deteriorating the further down I went. All the lipsticks have a very nice and pleasant scent plus they watch very nicely as you can see from the picture above, I find that each lipstick shade is unique in a sense but that some are in the same color family. Of course those ...

The Office (T.V Show Review)

Image
(((((((If you have yet to see the office (you really should) there will be spoilers in this review))))))) Summary: This mockumentary follows the lives of office employees in Scranton, Pennsylvania, a branch of Dunder-Mifflin paper company. Throughout all nine seasons, there is drama, friendships being made and destroyed, relationships being formed and a heck of a lot more drama. Oh, and lots comedy.   Now where to start? I guess from the beginning. I'm what you would call a late The Office bloomer. It hasn't been until the past year or so that I watched the Office (thanks to netflix) from start to finish. I guess what really pushed me towards watching the show was seeing all these memes on it. And coming across different videos of the show on my social media. Coming across these short clips they definitely did catch my attention in the humour department. So once I came across the show on Netflix I pressed play and was hooked from the first episode.  It is ...

True Blood: Season 1 Episode 6 Cold Ground (Episode Review)

Image
((((((This review contains spoilers.)))))) Adele Stackhouse is dead and of course Sookie is in shock but damn everyone keeps on bugging her. Can everyone just let the poor girl grieve? Of course Sam and Bill have to seize each other up. My question is why does Bill think he knows Sookie so well? Dude, you've known her maybe a week tops. Or has he known her for a week as he would like everyone to believe? I don't understand how Sookie was able to clean up the kitchen after her grandmother was murdered in it. It's a shame that Adele died she was such a gentle spirit.  Jason is just slowly deteriorating beyond belief. Addicted to vampire blood, suspected of several murders and now hitting his own sister. Thank God for Tara and Lafayette because they are amazing friends. They are funny and caring I wish they were my friends.  Sookie yelling and cursing at everyone during the funeral just made me laugh so much. I would react the same way if not worse had I been abl...

Underworld: Blood Wars (Movie Review)

Image
(((((((There will be spoilers))))))) Summary: Death dealer Selene must fight both the Lycan clan and the vampire faction that betrayed her from brutal attacks. Joining her as allies are David and his father Thomas, while she embarks on a quest to end the eternal war between both races even if it means sacrificing herself in the process. I like the opening scene. We got flashbacks and feel like there is no gap between movies. It feels like we're dropped right back into where the last movie ended. Essentially, there is a fluidity between the beginning of this film and the last one. It seems that time does not help a vampire's acting ability. When Semira was with the other council members deciding their own fate you could easily tell that she wanted Selene badly. In my head while I was watching this scene I thought to myself "Is she serious right now?" Bad acting skills indeed for Semira. But good acting skills to the actress playing Semira. I knew something wa...

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (Movie Review)

Image
(((((There will be spoilers))))))) Summary: Immediately following the end of Retribution, Humanity is on its last legs of survival. It is up to Alice and her allies to come together and finally put an end to Umbrella. Alice returns to where it all started; The Hive in Raccoon City.  Here is one issue that I am having with the story line right off the bat with this movie. The origin of the T-virus came up but in this movie it is stated that it was created by Dr. James Marcus, however, in the second movie Resident Evil: Apocalypse the T-virus was created by Doctor Ashford for his daughter Angie. So which one is it? Dr. Marcus that created it or Dr. Ashford? Plus this movie never went back to Dr. Ashford so now we have an inconsistency within the film and I hate inconsistencies in movies. Then we find out that it was actually Dr. Issacs who has full control of Umbrella since the beginning. That definitely was a plot twist. Especially, since Alice killed Dr. Issacs in a pre...

Lithium Luke and His Gal Pal Peanut By: E.Z. Peasy (Book Review)

Image
(((((Will Contain Spoilers. I received this book to review all thoughts and opinions are my own.)))))) Summary: Lithium Luke is on an epic journey to become special. Every person in Lithium's Luke world is special except him. When he journeys across the mystical land in search to find what his own special gift is he comes across all kinds of creatures from Jumping Jerries, Beezlebugs plus friendly and dangerous talking animals. He also comes across a smart girl named Peanut. Through all his exciting adventures with his new friends Lithium Luke learns something special about himself.  I would like to thank E.Z. Peasy for sending me her book to review. Sorry it toke me so long to finally review but better late than never, right? First thing I would like to say is that I have never read a book quite like this one. I'm referring to the writing style of it all and how the story was portrayed. The book was written as if it were an adult telling an imaginary story to ...

Illamasqua: Precision Ink in Abyss (Review)

Image
I originally got my hands on this liquid eyeliner from Ipsy a beauty subscription service that mails 5 beauty products every month. I truly recommend in giving them a try I've gotten products from such amazing companies and I cannot get enough of it. Check them out  here.   This liquid liner is long-lasting and waterproof which is perfect to use anywhere on the face and the body. It contain's a fine tip that allows for a defined application. It also allows you to create intricate sharp lines and the waterproof formula makes it stay on until you wish otherwise. This liquid eye liner costs around $37. For more info on this product check out Illamasqua's website  here. *****Cruelty Free 👍***** On the first try of using this liner I definitely messed up my liner, not so badly though! But it did take some getting used to because I usually use a regular eyeliner brush instead of a fine tip. The brush does pick up a good amount of product, however, you do nee...

True Blood: Season 1 Episode 5 Sparks Fly Out (Episode Review)

Image
((((There are spoilers)))) Getting right into the episode the rift between Sookie and Bill is quite understandable. Just knowing him and being associated with him has brought on a lot of change and danger. To Sookie all this change is disruptive to the little and simple life she has created for herself. At the same time such change might be what Sookie needs to finally thrive and live. But with him? Hell no! Jason is dumber than a bag of rocks. Doing V yet again? That is just asking for trouble to happen. And that trouble is him hallucinating. It's incredible how smooth he can be while high but isn't he forgetting Dawn fairly quickly? Bill sneakily listening in on everyone, how not shocking! Bill is quite something when he's got his Southern charm on full blast. However, when you see the truth of what is Bill Compton there is not much that he can do to deter our eyes from what he really is; manipulative, cold and a vampire. I do find it interesting that he can...

True Blood: Season 1 Episode 4 Escape From Dragon House (Episode Review)

Image
(((There will be spoilers.))) Jason is just the epitome of stupid. Dawn is dead and after having an altercation with her, he has to come back the morning after? I don't know about y'all but if someone shoots a gun at me (it's never happened) I wouldn't come back with flowers then get super pissy throwing said flowers around. And Sookie! I understand she was your friend but don't touch things at a murder scene.  I don't know whether I should laugh or just get pissed off at everyone but we have a murdered woman and everyone is not even focusing on the importance of it all. Andy is mad because people don't call him detective, the coroner is focusing on Dawn's breasts and everyone outside want to know all the gossipy details. What. The Fuck! Where is everyone's priorities?  Jason being the idiot that he is drinks the whole vial of vampire blood. Boy does he not listen to people. But here is what's bothering me. Jason isn't being cha...

Get Out (Movie Review)

Image
((((((There will be spoilers. Y'all have been warned...))))) Summary: Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams) has reached meeting the parents phase of dating and are set to stay for the weekend at Rose's parents house; Missy and Dean. Chris will quickly realize that her family's behavior is a lot more disturbing on a psychological level than just accommodating.  And Chris will want to get out fast, but will he? A white car following me while playing old tunes? Yeah, I'd fucking freak out and be on my guard. How the young black man didn't just start running away I have no idea why. Not going to lie to y'all I screamed so loudly when the driver just sneaked up on the young man and kidnapped him. Little side note, creepy fucking music but that was the whole point.  Okay, another stupid side note, Chris didn't look like he knew how to shave and actually nicked himself. I have a sneaky suspicion that that was a woman's ...

Annabelle Cosmetics: Lip Liners in Fuchsia, Modeste and Flame (Review)

Image
These lip liners are meant to be soft and a smooth texture that slides over the lips like silk while also providing a natural finish with perfect definition. They are hypo-allergenic and cost around $6 a piece. You can check out  +AnnabelleCosmetics  website for more information  here. ****Annabelle Cosmetics is Cruelty-free 👍***** Fuchsia (140): If your lips are not moisturized then this lip liner will tug on your lips and it will be slightly painful. This colour does leave a nice and pigmented fuchsia colour. I especially like the way it sits on the lips. It sits comfortably without the feeling annoying. I will say that if you keep re-applying it, it will dry out your lips. Otherwise, I really love how this colour compliments and pairs well with my skin tone.  Modeste (405): I don't know where Annabelle thought that these lip liners were like silk on the lips because that is far from the truth. To apply this lip liner and others from Annabell...

Sephora Collection| More Than Meets The Eye Eyeshadow Palette (Review)

Image
This limited edition eyeshadow palette contains 32 shadows that include everyday neutrals, smoky, highlighting shades and bright pops of colour, This palette is essential for beginners and makeup artists alike. The center shades are perfect for everyday use while the surrounding shades are great for smoky looks and pops of colour. This palette costs $32 but is valued at $180. Below you can see all 32 shades from the palette swatched. I will say that some of the more neutral and lighter shades are harder to see on my skin but I did try to pack up the colour for it to be noticeable. If there are some that you cannot see you can check further down this post to see a picture of the palette itself. ****I'm not sure if this palette is cruelty free or not because Sephora took down the information for the palette before I could write down the information. If I'm not mistaken a good chunk of the Sephora collection is cruelty free (at least all the items I've purchased so far). ...

Sally Hansen: Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat (Review)

Image
This diamond shine is a combination of base and top coat with brilliant shine and extended wear. The base coat is meant to strengthen and smooth nails while also gripping the nail polish colour. The top coat is meant to dry fast to keep the nail polish colour looking fresh and bright. Essentially, this is meant to give a high-gloss, beautiful manicure that lasts and gain noticeably harder, stronger nails. Apparently, there are real diamond particles that are 'known' to add durability and brilliant, lustrous shine. This retails for around $8.  How to Use: Apply one coat to bare nails, brush 1-2 coats of nail polish colour then finish it with 1 coat. Pretty simple.  *****Cruelty-free. This brand doesn't test on animals 👍****** I don't know what the heck has been going on but I have been having trouble with my manicures. They would barely last a day and I was quite hopeful with this product. It's extremely annoying for me to have my nails chip within ...
