Grace & Stella | Hyaluronic Acid Serum (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A big drink of water for you skin. Alleviating dryness and reducing the appearance of fine lines for dewier, brighter skin. It's time to say 'hi' to hydration and a glowing complexion. Cost: $11 I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian.  Click here to check them out.  ***Cruelty Free*** This is the first product I have tried from Grace & Stella and I'm not really sold on it. It's not the best to use during the winter when your skin desperately needs moisture. It's ok for a product but I didn't see much improvement to my skin. It added a bit of a glow to my skin but otherwise it didn't help much with moisturizing my skin or improving my fine lines. I will say you don't need much product to cover your face. A drop or two is more than enough.  Rating:  This is getting 1 star on 5. I'm definitely not rep...

Product Summary: British rose hydrating mask consists of 98% vegetable substances such as rose flower water and does not irritate to the skin. It provides intense moisture and nourishment to dry skin. The cooling water formula helps rejuvenate dry skin and prevents fine lines and wrinkles. One piece of advice that is great to know and follow is that sometimes it's not the makeup the problem but rather your skin and how hydrated it is.  There comes a point during the cold weather where a simple moisturizer is not enough and I need something that packs a hydrating punch. One thing I love to do when it comes to hydrating sheet m...

Click here to check them out.  The weather is getting colder and harsher which I thought would be the perfect time to review this product. I haven't been using it for very long but it seems that the product might turn quickly if it's exposed to air/ bacteria? I'm not quite sure what happened but I used it one day and left it alone for a  few days. When I went back to use it the inside of the cap was fil...

Fresh, clear skin that will have you feeling ready to take on the world! Cost: $18 ***Not Cruelty free*** I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   I have been looking for a face mask to help me with my blackheads. And I am beyond impressed with this product. I don't have many skin issues but blackheads on my nose have been a reoccurring one for years.  This product was easy enough to use. You apply it on the area of concern, wait till it fully dries and then peel it. It's super satisfying and I only need to use it once every couple weeks.  Rating: I'm going to give this face make 4.5 stars on 5. This is going to be a short review because I have nothing ...

VENeffect | Micro-Exfoliant (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This ultra fine exfoliant with grape seed, soy, pomegranate and willow bark. It gently removes dead skin cells, helps keep skin clear and radiant. Plus it hydrates and improves skin tone. Cost: $60 ***Cruelty Free*** I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   I love using s scrub, especially, during the summer months where my skin tends to get quite oily and sweat more than normal. I don't tend to spend many hours outside during the summer but when I do I need a good scrub to help me rid of the accumulation of sweat and grim on my face. Seems simple enough? Apparently, not. And don't let the price tag fool you, expensive does not mean better quality.  I am beyond disappointed in this product! It does nothing for my skin. It's so 'gentle' that it doesn't exfoliate anything off my face. And...

Freeman Beauty | Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This non-abrasive scrub with pink grapefruit bursts onto skin, sloughing off dead skin cells that make skin look dull. Massage gentle micro beads over face and neck for a revitalizing, deep cleansing exfoliation session that promotes healthy cell renewal. Bought the sample size for a couple dollars.  ***Cruelty free*** I am beyond sad in saying that I didn’t use this product but instead threw it right into the trash once I read the ingredient deck. This was an impulse purchase because I’ve had such a great history with Freeman beauty products. As soon as I saw Polyethylene as an ingredient my heart sunk. Not only is it horrible for the environment because it is, essentially, micro plastic’s but it is also terrible for your skin. The micro plastic’s  aka micro beads create micro tears in the skin every time you use it thus damaging your skin.  This is obviously getting zero stars. And please please please buyers beware! Don’t damage the planet or you...

GoldFaden MD | Bright Eyes (Review)

Image
Product summary: Dr. GoldFaden’s best selling advanced ultra-light brightening eye cream reduces the appearance of under eye darkness, puffiness and fine lines for a more luminous and youthful glow. Cost: $58 ***Cruelty free*** I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   I am at it again with another eye cream review. I have used this product morning and night for over a month straight. For something that costs $58 you would think see some kind of improvement whether it be my under eye circles or fine lines but alas I have not noticed a difference. If anything this feels like an overpriced moisturizer for the eye area.  Rating: I am giving this brightening eye cream zero stars on 5. This is a short review and for a good reason. I have not had any changes to my eye area. If you’ve had a different experience plea...

Perfectly Posh | Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Face Wash (Review)

Image
Product Summary: When dry, dead skin cells build up on the surface of your face. They can clog pores, which potentially leads to the appearance of all sorts of things nobody wants, like dullness, skin imperfections, fine lines, wrinkles and more. BFF cleanser is formulated with naturally based plant exfoliators that help keep dead skin cells from building up, so you always look beautifully fresh faced forever. Cost: $21.  I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   ***Cruelty Free*** With a little bit of googling I found out that Perfectly Posh was bought out by innov8tive. Perfectly Posh items are still available just on innov8tive website.  I don’t use exfoliating face scrubs often but it’s always good to have one on hand just in case. For the most past I tend to stick with moisturizers and serums, howev...

Cost: $48 I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   ***Cruelty free*** I am a huge advocate for skincare and to take care of your skin as early on as possible. Sunscreen is a everyday must and taking care of the skin around your eyes should be just as important and be done daily as well. I'm always on the hunt for a good eye cream/serum that will hydrate and improve the appearance of fine lines.  I've been trying this eye serum for a few months now and truthfully, I haven't noticed any improvement what...

Promise Organic| Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A unique blend of organic sugar and organic walnut shells to gently exfoliate the skin on a daily basis. For normal to combination skin. Cost: Around $15.  I ended up receiving this item in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   This review is going to be a little out of the norm from what how I typically write a review. I will be completely honest I did not bother putting this scrub on my face and that's because I did not want to forever ruin my skin. The second I saw that walnut shells were used as part of the exfoliation I knew this was going to be a hell no for me. Walnut shells even if they are blended super fine are still too far abrasive for facial skin and can create micro-tears into the skin.  I received this in my Ipsy subscription box and I just find it so odd that a company who focuses on getting the best ...

The Creme Shop | Holiday Sheet Mask Duo -A Snowman's Dream + Deer Diary (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This holiday inspired duo contains two sheet masks to satisfy everything your skin craves, use Deer Diary to plump and hydrate skin for an ultra-dewy glow. Pop on A Snowman's Story to help combat dryness and that tight feeling that skin can get when temps drop. Cost: $3 per mask.  I ended up receiving these face masks in a Ipsy glam bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 20$ Canadian. Click  here to check them out.   ***Cruelty free*** From the packaging alone, you would assume the sheet masks would be styled after a deer and snowman but alas it was just plain white face masks. Other than that, I had no issues with the masks. Winter time tend to dry my skin out quite a bit so sheet masks that are meant to hydrate the skin is exactly what I need.  For face masks that are geared towards being moisturizing I leave it on for as long as possible or I'll sometimes fall asleep with ...

Olay | Pore Minimizing Cleanser + Scrub (Thoughts)

Image
Product Summary: 2-in-1 cleanser deep cleans and exfoliates to help minimize the appearance of pores. The deep cleansing ribbons sweep away dirt and impurities, and the exfoliating microbead ribbons refine the appearance of pores. Costs around 10-13$ ***Not Cruelty Free👎*** The first thing I have to say is that I did not put this crap on my face. The microbeads or ribbons as they try to sell it is extremely terrible for the skin and the environment. Microbeads are tiny little pieces of plastic that can create micro tears in your skin.. And bacteria can enter these micro tears, leading to acne, infections and even wrinkles. The total opposite to what this cleanser should be doing.  As well, microbeads will wind up in our oceans, and our precious ocean-life will end up consuming the plastic and turns said ocean-life toxic. And in consequence we end up consuming plastic. Please, never purchase anything with microbeads. The ingredient name in this product that is the microbead is...

You can  click here to check out Ipsy. ***Cruelty-free ❤👍*** I tend to have really dry hands, especially, in the knuckle area because I wash my hands very often. Biorace | Intense Hydrating Spirulina Mask (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This mask hydrates, replenishes, and calms the overall skin that is dry, tired and sensitive. Delivering results comparable to those of a serum, it helps to energize for a healthy glow while refreshing, soothing and moisturizing skin. Costs around $2.50 per sheet mask. I received this item in my Ipsy bag which is a beauty subscription service. For more information on Ipsy you can  click here. ***Not cruelty-free 👎👎*** I normally don't use many sheet masks or too many serums because I have extremely sensitive skin. I have had instances where my skin got so irritated that I had a huge red rash all over my face and neck for several days. Thus, my hesitance on using such products. As of late, I have been tired and more stressed than usual and that takes a toll on my skin. When I initially put the mask on my face, it did start stinging and I was afraid this would be like all the other products and cause a rash on my face. I waited a few moments and...

Image
Product Summary: The tone up primer essential glow infuses these super-powered skin-loving ingredients to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, minimize the appearance of pores, even skin texture and keep skin looking flawless. The satin-sheen and lightweight formula creates an invisible skin perfecting finish. Worn alone or under makeup, no one will know you are wearing it, your skin will thank you later. Got this item in an Ipsy Bag. Ipsy is a beauty subscription service. For more info  on Ipsy please click here.  Full size product is 35$ and deluxe travel size which I have is 15$  ***Not cruelty-free👎👎*** During the morning when I'm getting ready if I see my skin needs a pick me up then I gravitate to this product to even out my skin tone. I wouldn't call this a primer but more of a CC cream. For a "primer", it is super pigmented just like a BB/CC cream. It blends into the skin really well leaving a nice glowy complexion as seen from the pict...

L'Oreal Paris: Ideal Clean Foaming Gel Cleanser (Review)

Image
Summary: -Quick and easy makeup removal  -Deeply purifying formula removes dirt and oil for an incredible clean.  -Pore by pore cleansing action minimizes the look of pores.  -No tightness, no residue.  -Oil free, dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested.  -Non comedogenic-suitable for sensitive eyes and for contact lens wearers. Costs around 8-10$  ***Not Cruelty Free 👎*** From the first use it worked amazingly. A little bit of this product goes a long way and it does wash away all the oil and dirt off your face without stripping away the natural oils of the face. A lot of face cleansers tend to make the skin dry after using it but not this one! It leaves my skin feeling extremely clean and soft. It's really hard for me to describe it but it has a nice and clean scent to it. It doesn't smell like cleaning products but it just smells clean.  I washed my face full of makeup products with this cleanser and it really does re...

Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Formulated with Kaolin clay and infused with the essence of honey suckle and white tea; this cleanser removes 2x more dirt, oil and makeup compared to basic cleansers. And it reduces shine! The Koalin clay lifts away oil and impurities to help minimize shine and this cleanser is oil-free. It's also dermatologist-tested and won't clog pores. This item is priced between 20-25$. ***Cruelty-free 👍*** As the seasons change, so does my skincare needs. The warmer the weather gets the more oil I tend to produce and have on my face. Winter is when I dearly need moisturizer for my face because I dry out like crazy! So when summer decides to say hello I need to get rid of the excess oil. I tend to get oil in my t-zone (middle of forehead, nose area and the surrounding cheek area close to the nose) and around my hairline.  What I like about this product is that it removes any oil you have without completely stripping your face of moisture. A lot of cleans...

Nourish Organic: Pure Hydrating Organic Argan Face Serum With Apricot + Rose Hip (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This serum deeply hydrates, replenishes skin, brightens and revitalizes the complexion. It regenerates the skin to reduce signs of stress and fatigue. It smooths texture and helps even out tone. Moroccan argan oil hydrates and replenishes. The apricot kernel oil restores and softens. While the rose hip oil smooths the skin texture. The full sized product costs $24.99. I received this product in a Ipsy bag. I love Ipsy because I always get introduced to new products and companies. You can visit Ipsy's website  by clicking here. *******Cruelty free 👍******** I quickly see a change in my skin after just one use. The day after I used it, I noticed my skin felt significantly softer and more supple. When you first apply it, it does feel like any regular oil but then when you massage it into your skin it settles on your face like a primer would.  I do appreciate the scent. You can definitely smell the apricot and this serum reminds me of cake ...

Neutrogena: Healthy Skin Instant Tone Corrector (Review)

Image
***Not Cruelty Free 👎*** This silky, lightweight formula is meant to smooth the skin and correct complexion in seconds. This formula contains essential soy which is "proven" to correct and brighten skin tone while also reducing the look of dark spots, pores and wrinkles. It also helps make-up to be applied smoothly and last longer. The SPF in the tone corrector helps the skin looking healthy. It can be worn alone or with makeup. It contains SPF 15 and is for all skin types. This product costs around $20 but I got it for a $1! You can checkout Neutrogena's website  here.   Essentially, this is a tone corrector and it can be used as a primer after moisturizer. When I read the description on the box I was praying to God that this would work because as I've previously stated in the past few blog posts I've written; this summer my skin has been freaking out with pimples and in consequence I have dark spots all over my chin area where I previously had pimples...

LA ROCHE-POSAY: EFFACLAR A.I. Targeted Breakout Cream Corrector (Review)

Image
This targeted breakout cream corrector from  +La Roche-Posay UK  is meant to penetrate pores to treat imperfections and to help eliminate them faster. This breakout cream is specifically for uncomplicated acne caused by periods, stress, fatigue and the sun which unfortunately has been happening to yours truly. Also, this is meant to even out the skin surface and it can be worn under makeup. This cream costs about $16 depending on where you get it but luckily for me I got it as a gift. I don't know what has been going on with my skin for the past couple of weeks but I have been having pimple problems and I'm obviously not happy about it. I will say that my skin fairs better in the winter/colder weather. This summer I have come to the solid conclusion that I do not enjoy the warm weather aka summer. I don't enjoy being in the sun very much, thus, explaining my pale flesh. I don't like the heat nor the excessive sweating that is tied in with summer. I'm just a winte...
