A Girl, a Goat, And a Zombie (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #25.1) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

***This review will contain spoilers*** Could I have lived without reading this short story? Yes, it didn't add anything to the main story. And beyond that I'm not a fan of baseball nor do I really know much about the game. I do find it ridiculous that Hamilton will write about anything and everything but putting together a good story line? Clearly, too much work and effort needed.  This short story was just a couple of pages long and quite frankly was less annoying than the last few books I have read from her. This short story was actually decent, especially, since none of her boy toys were involved and I didn't have to put up with Anita's atrocious sex life. If anything it reminded me a little of old school Blake just raising zombies. Exactly, how we were first introduced to her dozens of books earlier. I truly wish that Hamilton would go back to that type of writing and story telling but I know better than that.  Overall, it was okay but you could forgo reading this ...

Dead Ice (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #24) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: Anita Blake has the highest kill count of any vampire executioner in the country. She’s a U.S. Marshal who can raise zombies with the best of them. But ever since she and master vampire Jean-Claude went public with their engagement, all she is to anyone and everyone is Jean-Claude’s fiancée. It’s wreaking havoc with her reputation as a hard ass—to some extent. Luckily, in professional circles, she’s still the go-to expert for zombie issues. And right now, the FBI is having one hell of a zombie issue. Someone is producing zombie porn. Anita has seen her share of freaky undead fetishes, so this shouldn’t bother her. But the women being victimized aren’t just mindless, rotting corpses. Their souls are trapped behind their eyes, signaling voodoo of the blackest kind. It’s the sort of case that can leave a mark on a person. And Anita’s own soul may not survive unscathed . . . This book is exactly why I am going to keep reading through th...

Flirt (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #18) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: When Anita Blake meets with prospective client Tony Bennington, who is desperate to have her reanimate his recently deceased wife, she is full of sympathy for his loss. Anita knows something about love, and she knows everything there is to know about loss. But what she also knows, though Tony Bennington seems unwilling to be convinced, is that the thing she can do as a necromancer isn't the miracle he thinks he needs. The creature that Anita could coerce to step out of the late Mrs. Bennington's grave would not be the lovely Mrs. Bennington. Not really. And not for long. The second I picked up this book I knew it was going to be absolute shit. I think it's the smallest book yet, the font was bigger to make the book appear bigger/longer and there's a section where Hamilton walks us through her writing process...As if that part wasn't bad enough that section was a good 20% of the book. This reminded me of the book Mica...

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (Movie Review)

Image
(((((There will be spoilers))))))) Summary: Immediately following the end of Retribution, Humanity is on its last legs of survival. It is up to Alice and her allies to come together and finally put an end to Umbrella. Alice returns to where it all started; The Hive in Raccoon City.  Here is one issue that I am having with the story line right off the bat with this movie. The origin of the T-virus came up but in this movie it is stated that it was created by Dr. James Marcus, however, in the second movie Resident Evil: Apocalypse the T-virus was created by Doctor Ashford for his daughter Angie. So which one is it? Dr. Marcus that created it or Dr. Ashford? Plus this movie never went back to Dr. Ashford so now we have an inconsistency within the film and I hate inconsistencies in movies. Then we find out that it was actually Dr. Issacs who has full control of Umbrella since the beginning. That definitely was a plot twist. Especially, since Alice killed Dr. Issacs in a pre...
