Captain America: The First Avenger (Review)

Image
((((Please be advised there are spoilers)))) Movie Summary: Steve Rogers; a weak, sickly young man eager to enlist is repeatedly rejected from the war until a scientist recruits him and transforms him into Captain America. However, it comes at a price when he has to take down a war monger and a terrorist organization.    Opening Scene:  Agents of some kind from Washington are brought in and are inspecting what looks to be an aircraft that was trapped in ice and within it they find Captain America's shield. I had goosebumps watching that scene.  Only with a short few scenes into the movie we can clearly identify all the important qualities that makes up Steve Rogers; respect, honour, humility and has the determination to help out his country as much as he can even if he has to lie to get in the army.  I'm usually not enamored by characters but Steve Rogers is something else altogether. He is smart, selfless and has such a kind heart. Not man...

DeadPool 2 | Review

Image
(((There will be spoilers))) Movie Summary: Our favourite sarcastic and wisecracking mercenary DeadPool meets Russell, an angry teenage mutant who lives at an orphanage. When Russell becomes the target of Cable, a genetically altered soldier from the future. Deadpool makes it his mission to save the boy from a terrible death. DeadPool ends up teaming up with powerful mutants to hopefully change the present, future, and the past. Of course before we even have a word spoken in the movie we have a Wolverine reference more so concerning the Logan movie. In the opening scene, we see typical DeadPool acting depressed and self-destructive. No, I really mean literally. At least on the self-destructive part. He lights up a bunch of oil filled barrels and we have a huge explosion DeadPool style. Funny enough, we have a foreshadowing where DeadPool tells the audience he will die in this movie. You gotta enjoy him breaking the fourth wall every chance he gets. That is where I find the...

A Quiet Place (Movie Review)

Image
(((There will be spoilers within this review.))) Summary:  If they hear you, they hunt you. The Abbott family are in the midst of a post-attacked world where creatures that have insurmountable hearing abilities which causes this family to stay quiet to stay alive. One little peep and they could lose their life. I don't know why when I quickly watched the trailer on Facebook I thought this movie was about a house that was possessed and if they spoke the demon would come out. Not going to lie, I thought my original impression of what the movie was compared to what it is was a heck of a lot better. Within the first five minutes of the movie my movie companion kindly reminded me that this movie actually contained creatures and not demons.  When we are first introduced to the Abbott family they are searching through a grocery store for supplies and right away we see the little routine they put in place; not wearing shoes, picking things up carefully and using...

Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb (Movie Review)

Image
(This review will contain spoilers.) Summary: Larry Dalley (Ben Stiller) now the director of Night-time Operations at New York's Natural history museum must find out why the exhibits are behaving strangely, Larry learns that the tablet that brings all the exhibits to life has started to decay. Now it is up to Larry, the help of his son and the exhibits to find out how to prevent the tablet's magic from disappearing.  Opening Scene: We see a father and son back in 1938 in a dig site in Egypt. By accident the son falls into a tomb and we see how the tablet in New York was discovered. Not only do we see the discovery of the tablet but we also see the discovery of Ahkmenrah's tomb and that of his parents. Funny enough this was the start of the circle of information. Of course there is some random guy saying that the tomb mustn't be disturbed or it will be the end of the world! This scene strangely reminds me if The Mummy; anyone else? The father obviously ignor...

Deadpool (Movie Review)

Image
(((Will Contain Spoilers))) Summary: This is the origin story of Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) who is a former special forces operative that is currently working as a mercenary. Wilson was subjected to a rogue experiment that left him disfigured, gave him accelerated healing and he adopts his alter ego aka +Deadpool . With help from mutant allies Deadpool will use his new abilities to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life. The opening credits definitely demonstrated Deadpool's personality. Before the action started we had Deadpool speak to the audience and tell us how he got starred in his own movie which he indiscreetly mentioned Wolverine. However, when he was in the SUV kicking butt he put a cigarette lighter in one of the henchmen's mouth and said "I've never said this but don't swallow!" OMG!!! I died of laughter I couldn't stop laughing. Ten minutes into the movie and I can't stop laughing. I thought him saying that would be the b...

Binge Watching The Hunger Games

Image
I never was into The Hunger Games and all the hype and excitement of the movies. The first time I ever heard of The Hunger Games was about a few years ago and I kept receiving recommendations to read the series. And I read the description of the first book and I thought to myself this story sounds horrible. Obviously I didn't read the series so when I heard it was being produced as a film franchise I could not have cared less. Everyone at school was talking about it and I'm in the corner not paying mind to it. So here I am years after the first movie was released and guess what was on TV last week? Yup you guessed right. The Hunger Games was on and I only got the chance to watch part of it because that day I was busy.  Believe it or not I actually really loved the scenes that I got to watch. So earlier this week I watched all three movies. Whoa weird transition, right? I was simply drawn in by the movies and the plot.  I do have to admit I have a girl crush on Jennife...

Jurassic World: Movie Review

Image
(Will contain spoilers) If you guys don't know about the Jurassic park films then you have been living under a rock. Jurassic World is the fourth film in the series and this series is older than I am. I have been waiting forever for another film to come out and it finally did. I'm going to be honest it surpassed all my expectations.  Jurassic World, the amusement park was created after the first park was a complete bust and the new one is actually in the same area as the original one. The park has all these different herbivores and carnivores. But after years of the park running they need a bigger, better, jaw dropping attraction. And that's what they got. I'm sure that those who spent the day at Jurassic world will leave with a memorable impression.  Can I just say as a child I always wanted to go to Jurassic Park. As a kid I absolutely loved dinosaurs and would read so many books about them. Even did a few school projects on them. The fact that there has b...
