Shopping My Stash | Nail Polish Edition

This year has been the year of underconsumption and using what I have without purchasing more of things and items that I already have in my stash. One thing that I have an abundance of is nail polish. I have nail polishes that are over 15 years old. Fortunately, most of what I have is still usable and I've trying to use it up instead of purchasing more or trying different nail techniques that requires me to buy more items.

For a while, I was very much into going into the nail salon and getting acrylics. Eventually, I stopped going because it was just getting too expensive and I needed something different to do. So, I tried dipped nails. That lasted a couple of years but this past year I've taken a break on that and have been just using nail polish. The main reason I was getting my nails done is because mine are very thin and easily break so it was nice having them rigid and not breaking every second day.

Doing dip nails at home was my way of trying to save money while also having salon quality nails. But with doing dip nails I wanted all the different colors and a variety of glitter as well. Of course, thanks to Amazon I was able to save some money and bulk buy but once you purchase one kit then you want another. And of course with the changing trends you want to join in and have the same type of nails. Like I mentioned, I am taking a break from dip nails to give my nails some time to heal and just re-acquaint myself with them.

Every few weeks I pick a new nail polish to use and for the past little while I have been using Trust Fund Beauty nail polish in Elegantly Wasted. I first received this nail polish years ago in a Ipsy bag which is a monthly beauty subscription service where you get 5 items from sample to full size for around 30$ Canadian. Click here to check them out.

This nail polish is so old that Trust Fund beauty no longer carries it and they have completely different nail polish packaging. Their logo is also completely different. It seems like they had a rebrand a couple years back. Despite having a huge nail polish collection I am happy that I never 'decluttered' them and kept them all these years later because I am falling back in love with some of the nail colors that I have. Some that I didn't even realize I had in my collection.

Elegantly wasted is a new nail polish fave of mine and I think is perfect for the spring transition into summer months. Depending on the light it either looks like a pale grey or purplish grey mix which I love the way it looks on my nails.
