Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid #3) By: Richelle Mead (Book Review)

Summary:

First, Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men, can't have sex with her gorgeous bestselling author boyfriend Seth Mortensen--in case she inadvertently kills him. Second, Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block. Third, someone's manipulating her dreams, draining her energy and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks answers from Dante, a dream interpreter with ties to the underworld, but his flirtatious charm only leaves her more confused--especially as the situation with Seth reaches a crisis point. Georgina needs to rein in her out-of-control love life and go toe-to-toe with an enemy capable of wreaking serious havoc among mankind. Otherwise, Georgina, and the entire mortal world, may never sleep easy again...

This has got to be the most action packed, drama filled book of this series. From a primordial goddess going after Georgina, to relationship issues...(again), mentoring the new succubus in town and a blast from the past. Never a dull moment with Georgina. 

I am both overwhelmed and somewhat not surprised with the development of Georgina's life. We all knew that Seth and Georgina would never last. It just doesn't make any sense. A succubus and a human? With NO SEX?!? Yeah, no shocker that wasn't going to work out. Seth after a big blowout with Georgina decides to end his relationship with her but Georgina finds out Seth came to that conclusion after Niphon; the imp who bought Georgina's soul had a little chat with Seth. Niphon comes into town with a new Succubus in tow named Tawny  who is greener than green when it comes to seduction and stealing men's souls. And Georgina has to mentor her or else she'll have to deal with severe repercussions. 

Niphon, however, has a more sinister ploy in play. He releases the primordial goddess Nyx from her prison to prey on Georgina and steal her energy and Tammy's to try and get Georgina in trouble. Why? We still don't have the answer to that but it might be because he could have screwed up her contract when he bought her soul. Through Nyx, Georgina keeps dreaming about having a daughter and a husband. When she had the chance to confront Nyx, she said that is the future. Whether that is true or not only time will tell. 

One of the most overwhelming moments in this book was when angel Yasmine killed another angel to defend the man she loves. Said man is actually a Niphilim. As we all know, they are the offspring of Angels and demons. It was intense going through the process of an angel falling and becoming a demon. She was surrounding by black mist and Jerome, the local Archdemon arrived and took Yasmine to hell for what I'm guessing will be orientation. One thing that struck out was that you can do things with the right intentions and still end up at fault.

For the final nail in the coffin, as if seeing an Angel fall and trapping the goddess Nyx isn't enough. Georgina finds out that Seth went and had sex with another woman. Not just any woman but Maddie. The same girl that Georgina has taken under her wing and has helped improve her appearance and to seize the day. The worst part is that Seth the moment he saw Georgina, he was acting like nothing ever happened! He most likely wouldn't have told right away which is messed up on so many levels. I don't care if she already cheated (which I don't condone), or that they had a big blowout. If you love someone you would never ever do that unless you wanted to purposefully hurt them. But not only does he sleep with Maddie, he's also dating her! What a fucking douchebag. He's leaving one relationship and jumping into another without telling Maddie she was the side piece.

I am going to give this book 5 stars on 5. I love/hate this book. I love it because we were given insight on what happens when an Angel falls which was intense! Also found out that Nyx the primordial goddess plays a part into this world including actually creating it which raises the question on who created the world then? But then we have dumbass Seth who not only broke our poor Georgie's heart but also did it in the most callous way. Sleeping with your girlfriends friend? Talk about fuckboy behaviour. Seth isn't the guy for Georgina and I just want her to embrace her life and stop with the fantasy of being a human.
