True Blood | Season 3 Episode 3: It Hurts Me Too (Review)

 ***This review will contain spoilers***

This definitely felt like a filler episode in the sense that it focused more on the minor characters and less on Bill and Sookie. We definitely got a break from those two for the most part. This episode feels a little like the calm before the storm. With the way this one went I can say for certain next episode shit will hit the fan!

Poor Tara is about to see a whole lot more darkness before she sees the sun. Her one night stand with Franklin the vampire was definitely uncomfortable to watch and despite her trying to keep her distance from him, he doesn't seem to want to let her go. Not only does he try to find out more information on her, he glamours her so he can get into Sookie's house. He screams danger and from what we've seen with the first two seasons is that once a vampire sets their sight on you, it's damn near impossible to get rid of.

Sam was better off not knowing his family because he can't seem to shake them. After ending his visit he goes back home only for them to show up at his bar the day after. It doesn't take a genius to realize that they have money troubles and daddy Joe-Lee likes his alcohol. Not only has he been drinking for the better part of the day on Sam's tab but then lets his nineteen year old son take a couple of shots too. Not much of a role model there. And then to make the matter worse, Sam is woken up in the middle of the night with Tommy trying to steal money from his safe. I fear that they will only bring trouble to Sam and he deserves to be happy without any strings attached.

We are finally introduced to Alcide the werewolf! He escorts Sookie all the way to Jackson, Mississippi as a favour to Eric. They end up at a local werewolf bar in the hopes that Sookie could listen in and find the werewolves responsible for kidnapping Bill. Yet again looking like diner in a place filled with supernatural's, she cringingly gets their attention and ends up almost being taken advantage of by one of the vampire abducting wolves. Alcide came and saved her but they're not closer at finding where Bill is.

Which leads me to Bill...flip flopping Bill ends up pledging loyalty to Russell which he says is to save Sookie. Not so sure about that. He's only aligning himself till he can get away since he's surrounded by vampires centuries older than him. This episode ends in one of the most disturbing ways possible. Bill hate fucking Lorena and then twisting her head a hundred and eighty degrees while simultaneously fucking her. I'm sure he'll fail to mention that to Sookie when the time comes because that just sounds wrong on so many levels. I'm ready to see just how crazy the next episode will turn out.
