True Blood |Season 2 Episode 5: Never Let Me Go (Review)

 ***This review will contain spoilers***

I don't know what is more painful to watch; Sookie in a vampire hotel hallway saying she can read minds when being around vampires that is basically shouting it on the rooftops or her actually believing no vampire will hurt her because she is Bill's human. Longshadow, Malcolm and his crew proved that vampires don't give a shit about which humans belong to which vampires unless that human's vampire is old with a lot of power and authority which Bill does not have. Sookie needs to smarten up cause her being naïve is irritating beyond belief.

Just when I start to think Jason has no redeeming qualities he goes and offers a helping hand to Luke; the douche with the plan to constantly belittle and make Jason seem like the lesser man. But alas Jason is right back to being nothing more than a sex toy for Sarah Newlin. She's not happy in her marriage so in her own twisted, delusional state she convinces Jason that them being sexually together is God's reward. You've got to be one sick person to cheat then say God approves of it all.

We finally get a peak into Eric's past! The reason why Eric is so invested in finding Godric; the Dallas sheriff is because he is Eric's maker. I'm happy we got to see Eric as a human and changed by Godric. I would love to see more flashbacks of Eric's life. He's been a vampire for over a thousand years an has witnessed so much history plus Godric is double his age. I'm a huge history buff  and I would love to see some of the most historical moments from their perspective. One alarming thing is that Godric is over two thousand years old then who took him? We've seen the fellowship of the sun training their 'soldiers' and they don't seem even close enough to match his strength let alone abduct him.

I do agree with Stan; one of Godric's Lieutenants, vampires should never have revealed themselves to the public and humans. We humans have this nasty tendency to become aggressive and fearful of things we do not understand. If the Newlin's have a whole arsenal in the Church basement imagine what the government has stockpiled away.

One thing I can't seem to understand is why Maryann is so obsessed with Tara? Tara moves into Sookie's house and Maryann tries to move in too. When Tara refuses since it's not her house to begin with, Maryann with her abilities was able to influence the people around Tara to snap and be rude to her. The manipulation tactics are scary to see but still why does Maryann want her?

At the end of the episode we have Bill's maker who appears. Which of course means there will be drama seeing as how she manipulated him into turning him into a vampire.
