The Incredible Hulk (Movie Review)

***This review will contain spoilers***

Summary:
Scientist Bruce Banner desperately seeks a cure for the gamma radiation that contaminated his cells and turned him into the Hulk. Cut off from his true love Betty Ross and forced to hide from his nemesis, Gen. Thunderbolt Ross, Banner soon comes face to face with a new threat, a supremely powerful enemy known as the Abomination.

No matter how many times I've watched this movie I never get bored of it. It's a solid movie through and through and even over a decade later it is still a better movie than some of the newer ones being produced. Now that's saying something!

Edward Norton portrayed Bruce Banner perfectly, he was able to demonstrate his emotional tortured side of the aftermath of the Hulk, while also demonstrating the gentle side of Bruce. He carried the movie well and was a natural! Honestly, the entire cast was amazing. Liv Tyler was beyond gorgeous, brought Betty Ross to life in an amazing manner and wasn't an annoying Mary Sue character.

I've gotta do a shout out to Ty Burrell for his portrayal of Doctor Samson, he only had a few scenes but they were definitely great! The scene between Samson and Gen Ross was awesome! Calling him out on his bullshit lies and saying "no wonder Betty never speaks of you" were some truth bombs that Ross probably haven't heard in a very long time.

I loved the fight scenes and the evolution of Hulk's fighting style. Hulk using his environment and quickly adapting to new foes/technology demonstrates how it's not only Banner that is intelligent but that intelligence is reflected in the Hulk as well. Abomination was a great counter part as the villain to the Hulk. He was bigger, had more fighting experience since Blonsky's had complete mental and physical control when he turned into the Abomination. Even though, Hulk wasn't as big or well experienced in fighting he was experienced in being the Hulk. That was his advantage in being able to take down Abomination.

Can we just quickly talk about all the cameos in the movie? We have of course the legendary (RIP) Stan Lee, Lou Ferrigno the original actor of Hulk from the 80's and of course end credit scene which depicts Tony Stark speaking to General Ross about the Avengers Initiative.

Rating:
5 stars on 5. It was a phenomenal movie and the fact that after all these years after it's release it's still a top notch movie just is a testament to how well it was made. If you have yet to see it please do yourself a favour and watch it.
