True Blood |Season 2 Episode 8: Timebomb (Review)

***This review will contain spoilers***

What a crazy and intense episode! Every scene was on point and there was not a lull in this episode. It just kept you wanting more and seeing what will happen next. I liked that it kept switching from different characters so it kept us engaged and interested.

I wasn't a huge fan of Eric 'sacrificing' himself for Sookie. He normally would do what's best for himself but that manipulation tactic was targeted towards Sookie and it worked! And it's hilarious how gullible she is. Then Bill stalks in like a true vampire should; threatening to kill everyone. I hope Sookie opens her eyes when it comes to him, he's not what he seems.

The star in the whole episode is Jason! I think he might actually be maturing and evolving. One thing he has always been consistent in is protecting his family. I loved seeing him getting aggressive and turning into Rambo to protect his sister. Even him apologizing to Bill for how he treated him in the past shows his growth. I'm excited to see more of him in the future.

It was interesting seeing Eric and Godric interact with each other. Eric is extremely devoted to Godric and whatever he commands. It's saddening that Godric gave himself over to the Fellowship, especially, since he seems to have evolved past his primitive/ being a brutal vampire stage. He has lived over two thousand years and I can only imagine the things he has experienced. I would've preferred they utilized his character in a different manner than him being a depressed/ suicidal vampire. He demonstrated great power and compassion. A character with those qualities can be extremely impactful if utilized properly.

Back in Bon Temps it's nothing but craziness. Daphne is found with her heart cut out, Sam gets blamed for her death. Meanwhile, Maryann is feeding said heart in a soufflé to Tara and Eggs. Definitely, a disgusting moment. I hope they realize Maryann's true nature and get away from her. And who would have thought that Andy would be one of the last few people in Bon Temps with a lick of sense. Feels like the calm before the storm.

Closing scene; we are left with a huge cliffhanger. Luke walks into the vamp nest with a bomb attached to his chest. What I would like to know is how the hell no one smelled the bomb materials strapped to him or smell him from the Fellowship. If a dog can smell a bomb shouldn't a vampire be able to as well? We'll have to wait till the next episode to see if the bomb went off and if anyone will die.
