Zack Snyder's Justice League (Movie Review)

Image
Summary: A four hour director's cut where Batman and Wonder Woman assemble Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg to defend Earth from Steppenwolf and Darkseid following Superman's death. It features a darker tone, in-dept character backstories, and a triumphant final battle offering a vastly different story than the 2017 version.  The opening scene is already infinitely better. We have the pivotal point where Superman dies and the echoes of his cries activating the motherbox.  Part One: Don't count on it Batman.  In just 30 minutes of the movie you can tell the drastic changes between Weedon's and Snyder's version. It's actually laughable that Weedon's version was ever released. Those 30 minutes honored Batman, Wonder Woman and the Amazons more than the entirety of Weedon's movie ever could.  In this version, Batman/Bruce Wayne is depicted as incredibly intelligent and isn't out of the loop when another language is being spoken. Diana is depicted as being able...

Justice League (Movie Review)

***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and WonderWoman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awaked enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes in Batman, WonderWoman, Aquaman, Cybor and The Flash, it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.  I was apprehensive about this movie because Batman V Superman left a bad taste in my mouth. It makes no sense the characters being as old as they are and not even have the Justice League formed. The opening scene was a video of Superman being questioned by a couple of kids. The CGI on Cavill's face was atrocious and distracted from the actual scene itself. I would have preferred that they scrapped that altogether.  Isn't it already too late trying to form a team of s...

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (Movie Review)

Summary: It's been nearly two years since Superman's colossal battle with Zod devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless; including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne. Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.  Opening Scene: Introduction of Bruce Wayne and the murder of his parents that shaped him to be the man he is today. I hope with the new Universe that James Gunn is creating I won't have to see pearls hitting the ground anymore. I swear DC fans have developed PTSD from those damn pearls.  It was interesting seeing Bruce's perspective about the attack on Metropolis by General Zod. You can clearly see his hatred growing for Superman with every building being destroyed and person dying due to the attack.  I can understand the vision of t...

Man Of Steel (Movie Review)

***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: With the imminent destruction of Krypton, their home planet, Jor-El and his wife seek to preserve their race by sending their infant son to Earth. The child's spacecraft lands at the farm of Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark and raise him as their own son. Though his extraordinary abilities have led to the adult Clark living on the fringe of society, he finds he must become a hero to save those he loves from a dire threat.  I've watched a few of the DCEU movies over the last decade but to be honest I haven't really gotten a chance to watch all of them. And with James Gunn heading every DC project I have full confidence that he will usher in a new era of movie making. He's produced and directed some of my favourite childhood movies and growing up I was a DC kid and boy as an adult it has been embarrassing just how bad DC movies have gotten. Recently, they released the trailer for Superman and it looks really go...
