L'Oréal Paris | Ultra-Concentrated Urgent Repair Care (Review)

Image
Product Summary: L'Oréal's ultra concentrated urgent repair care is enriched with LAK1000 containing reconstructing gel that deeply penetrates the hair fiber. Directions: After using shampoo and conditioner, apply on wet hair concentrating on mid-length and ends. Use once a week. Costs around $5.   ***Not cruelty free*** For some reason I am unable to find what LAK1000 means on their website or anywhere else. And I can't seem to find much information on this product either. Maybe this product never flew off the shelves but it would explain why I was able to snag a few of these for just a dollar.   It comes to no surprise that I constantly colour and curl my hair, with that I need to use hair products that can deeply nourish and repair my damaged hair. I have long thick hair so this one tube only lasted after one use. Luckily I was able to snag a few of these to really test them out.  After just a couple of uses I can visibly see a difference in my hair. The ends...

The Lunatic Cafe (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #4) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

Image
(This review will contain spoilers)  Summary: Anita has fallen for the leader of a local pack of werewolves. She's survived a lot, but this love thing may kill her yet. You guys know how much I have been loving this series so far and I have been hoping we keep going on this trajectory but alas we have hit a major speedbump. Not in the mystery/ crime fighting part of it but the whole romance aspect just shifted in this book to another level that I absolutely hate and do not understand. This book was action packed and yet again we're being exposed to a different aspect of Anita's world. All of that was top notch as per usual but Hamilton really fucked up with the development of Anita's and Richard's relationship and threw in the mix, Jean-Claude. There is so much to unpack.  I had such high hopes for this series and then Hamilton threw in out of nowhere romance and now I'm barely holding on. When we finished the previous book Anita was newly dating Richard, a wer...

Circus Of The Damned (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #3) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

Image
(This review will contain spoilers) Summary: In Circus of the Damned a rogue master vampire hits town, and Anita gets caught in the middle of an undead turf war. Jean-Claude, the Master Vamp of the city, wants her for his own-but his enemies have other plans. And to make matters worse, Anita takes a hit to the heart when she meets a stunningly handsome junior high science teacher named Richard Zeeman. They're two humans caught in the crossfire-or so Anita thinks. This has been the best book so far in this series! We've got new bad guys, new supernatural creatures and a whole lot of violence. Just up my alley. I love that this world keeps expanding and we are still being introduced to new supernatural creatures. We got to meet werewolves, a giant cobra and a Lamia. Still not clear on where this giant cobra came from other than it has something to do with magic. I am not a fan of snakes and reading about them definitely put me on edge. Yet again Hamilton has this knack for being...

Sephora | Exfoliating Cleansing Cream Green Tea (Review)

Image
Product Summary: A cleansing cream with tiny scrubbing beads that help clean out pores, sweep away dead skin cells and help refine skins texture. Skin is soft and luminous, free of impurities and excess oil. Costs: $5. *Not Cruelty Free* During summer months, our skin is attacked by humidity and constant sweat. For my skin specifically I tend to have more clogged pores, breakouts and excess oil. I don't do well in the heat and neither does my skin. That is why a exfoliating cleanser is a must. I was a little worried at first because a lot of scrubs contain microplastics that are extremely damaging to the skin. However, after checking the ingredient deck I had no more worries. The beads actually end up dissolving when you expose them to water. Microbeads make of plastic don't do that.  I was super impressed by this product. Not just by the price but how effective it is for the skin. After just one use, you can instantly notice a difference. It helped clean away my excess oil, it...

The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #2) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

Image
(This review will contain spoilers) Summary: Harold Gaynor offers Anita Blake a million dollars to raise a 300-year-old zombie. Knowing it means a human sacrifice will be necessary, Anita turns him down. But when dead bodies start turning up, she realizes that someone else has raised Harold's zombie--and that the zombie is a killer. Anita pits her power against the zombie and the voodoo priestess who controls it. The second book in the series and we are yet again given another phenomenal mystery novel. The first one we were definitely not eased into Anita's world, we were thrown in but it was a awesome wild ride. This time around there's even more gore, we get to experience Anita's powers as a necromancer and just how much of a badass she really is.  In this book there was barely any mention of vampires and we only got a few scenes with Jean-Claude. I found that we got to learn more about Necromancers and just how big and complex their world really is. There are necrom...
