But when the doll awakens the room's evil spirits, it soon becomes an unholy night of terror for the couple's 10-year old daughter, her babysitter and her friends.  Opening scene:  Ed and Lorraine take the Annabelle doll but on the way home their car mysteriously breaks down in front of a cemetery and a spirit tries to kill Ed by pushing him in the path of a truck. The doll is a beacon for spirits and not even a couple of minutes into their artifact room and other spirits were acting out.  This movie was exactly what I was asking for! The first half of the movie was dull and insufferable. There was no real development to the story, I do like movies that have a slow buildup but each scene adds to the story. This movie didn't have that.
