Down Under Natural’s | Ultimate Hold Styling Mousse (Review)

Image
Product Summary: Venture down under and immerse yourself in the exotic cocktail of Australian fruits; kiwi, peach, avocado and natural botanicals. Alcohol-free and non sticky, providing long lasting and styling control without drying or buildup. Added UV protection against environmental polluants and discolouration. Cost: $6-8  ***Cruelty free ❤️*** I didn’t end up using this product in the way it was intended but either way it doesn’t matter because it worked amazingly with my hair! After my hair wash day I typically straighten it and then throughout the following days I’ll either keep it straight or use my curling wand. 9 out of 10 times I curl it.  I’m not a big fan my natural hair texture just because it can get big and frizzy. Straightening it helps me keep it under control. I did try using this product while my hair was damp but I couldn’t get it to work well for me. Instead I use it on my already straightened hair when I want to curl it and it surprisingly worked ...

Eve's Diary (The Morganville Vampires #1.4) By: Rachel Caine (Book Review)

This is essentially a diary format short story of Eve Rosser's point of view. I have owned Glass Houses book for over a decade and never once knew that the end of it contained Eve's Diary short story. And it's not very long but about 7-8 pages just journal entries written by Eve.  We do get a little insight on the trio before Claire moved in and Eve's perspective on the resident Glass hottie but otherwise I could have lived on without reading it. If anything this insight on Eve made me think less of her. From the first book, Eve gives off a more mature feel and with the diary entries it made her seem really immature and childish at times.  There was a lot of emphasis on Michael Glass and his hotness which being eighteen years old you would think you wouldn't be writing in a diary about a guy you're into and how hot he is. Maybe if you're twelve but at eighteen? Sorry grow up and get it together.  This will be a short review and this is going to be receivin...

Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires #1) By: Rachel Caine (Book Review)

Image
***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood. Will she be able to face the town's terror or will she drown like everyone else? This is exactly what I needed right now in my life! I have read books from this series at least over a decade ago at this point and I remember loving them back then. I have been in such a reading funk these past few years trying/soldiering through Hamilton's Anita Blake series that I'm making a shift for the remainder of this year and I am happy to say this decision is already proving to be the best one. I ended up reading Glass Houses  within 4 days. Granted this book has less than 300 pages but wi...

Freeman Beauty | Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub (Review)

Image
Product Summary: This non-abrasive scrub with pink grapefruit bursts onto skin, sloughing off dead skin cells that make skin look dull. Massage gentle micro beads over face and neck for a revitalizing, deep cleansing exfoliation session that promotes healthy cell renewal. Bought the sample size for a couple dollars.  ***Cruelty free*** I am beyond sad in saying that I didn’t use this product but instead threw it right into the trash once I read the ingredient deck. This was an impulse purchase because I’ve had such a great history with Freeman beauty products. As soon as I saw Polyethylene as an ingredient my heart sunk. Not only is it horrible for the environment because it is, essentially, micro plastic’s but it is also terrible for your skin. The micro plastic’s  aka micro beads create micro tears in the skin every time you use it thus damaging your skin.  This is obviously getting zero stars. And please please please buyers beware! Don’t damage the planet or you...

Crimson Death (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #25) By: Laurell K. Hamilton (Book Review)

Image
***This review will contain spoilers*** Summary: Anita has never seen Damian, her vampire servant, in such a state. The rising sun doesn’t usher in the peaceful death that he desperately needs. Instead, he’s being bombarded with violent nightmares and blood sweats. And now, with Damian at his most vulnerable, Anita needs him the most. The vampire who created him, who subjected him to centuries of torture, might be losing control, allowing rogue vampires to run wild and break one of their kind’s few strict taboos. Some say love is a great motivator, but hatred gets the job done, too. And when Anita joins forces with her friend Edward to stop the carnage, Damian will be at their side, even if it means traveling back to the land where all his nightmares spring from...a place that couldn’t be less welcoming to a vampire, an assassin, and a necromancer. Well...this isn't Hamilton's worst book ever. But it definitely leaves a lot to be desired. At least she had some type of plot goi...

Sephora | Metallic Pigment Palette Review

Image
Product Summary: Amp up your glow with this metallic pigment palette. Light reflecting metallics in light pink, peach and bronze are perfect for highlighting cheekbones, inner eyes and brow bone. Chrome, gold and foiled ruby add bold pops of unexpected color to any look and can be applied as highlight, eyeshadow and even blush. Soft, pigmented formula blends seamlessly into skin for an eye catching, amped up metallic sheen. Cost: $9.  ***Not cruelty free*** I have had this Sephora palette collecting dust for I don’t know how long now. It seemed like a great deal at the time, 6 pigments for only $9. However, it looked ‘boring’ in comparison to other eyeshadow palettes I have reviewed in the past. But man was I so wrong! I have been easing closer to palettes with multiple uses for both eyes and the face. This palette is absolutely amazing! Especially, the shades!  The bottom row I like to mix all the shades together and apply it on my cheekbones. I can use this palette as ...
